"Cheeky" Scrapbook layout by Louise

Hi Crafters

How bout a really, really "boy" layout - "Cheeky"

The inspiration for this page came from the pop of green in the photo.
Master C loves green so I wanted to make this a page with a strong green focus.

This collection is from Jillibean Soup - 2 Cool 4 School.
I decided to pair it with some of the Nested Circles
Each given a different colour of Distress Crayon.

I've also used the "Cheeky" word and covered it with Colour Blast Embossing Powder.

I haven't added too much mixed media but I did add some Nuvo glitter paste to the background through a star stencil!

"Beautiful Times" Scrapbook layout by Louise

Hi Crafters

Here to share a new scrapbook layout
"Beautiful Times"

These Him & Her Shapes are super cute ... but
I really struggled with using them on a page.

After a few different starts but nothing that I could get happening, I had an idea.
My boys are always sitting with me in my craft room.
So I gave the two chippies a coat of gesso, handed one each to my boys and some distress crayons and asked them to colour them in - one like Mum and one like Dad.

What you see on this page is the result.

After the chippies were decorated I knew I needed to use them.
So I grabbed a couple of photos of my boys with there first ever scrapbook pages - made with their Nan and created this page.
The chippies were quite bright and colourful so I left the page fairly neutral with a few pops of colour from the Cocoa Vanilla Studio "Boys Rule" collection.

"A work of heart" Scrapbook Layout by Louise

Hi Crafters

Here to share a new scrapbook layout with you

"A work of heart"

On this page I've used the "A Work of Heart" chipboard

I've colored it with black ink and then painted on Colour Blast Shimmer Spray "Bling" for that lovely gold shimmer.
Then I've painted the heart with red water colour to help it lift off the page.

To decorate the rest of my page, I chose to use blue and red as they were the colours in the photos.
I've used Colour Blast paste in "Just Blue" through a stencil and added minimal embellishments.

Finally I've done some journalling - Very important, don't forget to right the story.

"Fingers and Toes" Scrapbook Layout by Louise

Hi Crafters

Sharing a new scrapbook layout "Fingers and Toes"

While recently looking through some baby albums I found a bunch of photos that hadn't been scrapped. So I'm working through some baby pics (even though my boys are now 5).

I started with the lovely Fingers and Toes chipboard.
I've used Colour Blast Embossing powder in "Indigo" to colour it.

I also discovered this super sweet "ABC" blocks chippie.
I decided to leave it a little raw.
I used water colours to highlight the letters and then used the Uniquely Creative sparkle pen to colour the edges.

Other elements on this page are watercolour background, paper frames, splatters, stickers and paper layers.

"Proud Much" interactive scrapbook layout by Louise

Hi Crafters

Here to share a new scrapbook layout
"Proud Much"

I was lucky enough to head along to the Brisbane Scrapbook expo in June.
I took a class with Jenny Heaslip Scrapbooker
Jenny makes the most wonderful interactive pages.
I decided to go ahead and make one for this layout.

The front page folds back and reveals the journalling and a second photo.

I couldn't resist the Proud Much?!!!! Chipboard

At the Scrapbook expo I also picked up some of the new Colour Blast embossing powders, this one "Sparkling Sands" is just exactly like the name.

Other elements on this page are from the Kaisercraft Stargazer collection.

"Memory" Scrapbook layout by Louise for August Challenge

Hi Crafters

Did you know that over in the Facebook group we have a monthly challenge.

Here is my inspiration page ...

"Memory"

I just love the colours of this months moodboard and those butterflies = sigh!

No automatic alt text available.

I had a grid pattern in mind, so I gathered some project life cards, some 3x4 photos and a couple of chipboard pieces.

The Camera Squares are one of my fav chipboards - I love how it looks poking out of this cluster.

I've also used the Circle Set and some sweet Butterflies.

For the border, I've added some stripes with Distress Crayons and smudged them.
It needed a little something extra, so I also added some texture stamping.

"Need for Speed" Scrapbook layout + step by step by Louise

Hi Crafters

I'm so pleased to be sharing this new layout with you
"Need for Speed"

I have used the

I grabbed some photos of Master C - riding his bike and then stacking his bike - perfect!

I had the Cocoa Vanilla Studio "Boys Rule" collection on my desk and it was just screaming at me to create with it.
So I grabbed some frames and papers to create a cluster.

I haven't used the washi tape technique for a while,
So I grabbed a roll and used it to cover the "Speed" word part of the chipboard.

Once I was happy with the layers I wanted to add a little colour.
So I brought out my favourite medium - Distress Crayons.
I used the three colours to add a fireworks pattern  for behind the cluster.

To finish the page, I've simply embellished and added some black splatter.

I love how quick and easy this page was - but with such an interesting result.

"You melt my heart" Scrapbook layout by Louise

Hi Crafters

Red is one of those colours that I love but find it very challenging to scrap with.
So for this page I let the chipboard inspire me.
"You melt my heart"

I've used the new Colour Blast embossing powder.
"You melt my heart"

I've raided my stash and chosen lots of different red, black and white patterns and then layered them. I then added some messy white gesso before curling the edges of the papers and adding some black ink splatters.

I adore this photo of Master Z being so cheeky and playing coy.

"Blessed" Scrapbook layout by Louise

Hi Crafters

One of my favourite things about chipboard - it really is so easy to embellish a page and create texture without too much effort.

Today's layout is a lovely simple page ... "Blessed"

I just love these adorable photos - they really show the friendship and individuality of my boys.

I've used the title Blessed
and coated it with white heavy gesso before creating a ombre look by combining distress crayons

In the layout you'll also find the Nested circles
which I've covered with "Apple of my Eye" embossing powder.

Background is simply Colour Blast paste "Sunshine" applied through a stencil and paper layering.

I'm loving the bright and textured result of this page - especially with the vibrant photos.

It was lots of fun and super easy to put together.

Thanks for visiting.

"Catch of the Day" Step by step scrapbook layout by Louise

Hi Crafters

I'm sharing a step by step for the creation of my layout "Catch of the Day"

One of my challenges to myself in 2018 is to use my stash.
So I go to the back of my paper collections and must create something, using those papers.
Today it's an older collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio.

***

Firstly I chose a chipboard piece ...
the Catch of the day word is perfect for my fishing mad family!

I started with a white 12x12 cardstock background and then did some paper tearing - it's one of my favourite ways to add interest and texture.

Next, I covered my chipboard piece in white heavy gesso.
I also played around with placement and background elements - using the papers as inspiration for the triangle pieces.

I then adhered everything down and added some background stamping.

Using the collection as inspiration I added Colour Blast Shimmer Cube in "Deep Water" to the stamped circles with a few little splatters too.

To coordinate my chipboard I used Distress Crayons to achieve the desired colour.

I added a little bit of black around the chipboard title and added foam squares to the back, to help it lift off the page.

I generally add my journalling last - even if it's just a date or year - so that I know where the photo will fit in an album (when I eventually get around to putting them away LOL).

Here is the finished layout.
