"Cheeky" Scrapbook layout by Louise

Hi Crafters

How bout a really, really "boy" layout - "Cheeky"

The inspiration for this page came from the pop of green in the photo.
Master C loves green so I wanted to make this a page with a strong green focus.

This collection is from Jillibean Soup - 2 Cool 4 School.
I decided to pair it with some of the Nested Circles
Each given a different colour of Distress Crayon.

I've also used the "Cheeky" word and covered it with Colour Blast Embossing Powder.

I haven't added too much mixed media but I did add some Nuvo glitter paste to the background through a star stencil!

"Beautiful Times" Scrapbook layout by Louise

Hi Crafters

Here to share a new scrapbook layout
"Beautiful Times"

These Him & Her Shapes are super cute ... but
I really struggled with using them on a page.

After a few different starts but nothing that I could get happening, I had an idea.
My boys are always sitting with me in my craft room.
So I gave the two chippies a coat of gesso, handed one each to my boys and some distress crayons and asked them to colour them in - one like Mum and one like Dad.

What you see on this page is the result.

After the chippies were decorated I knew I needed to use them.
So I grabbed a couple of photos of my boys with there first ever scrapbook pages - made with their Nan and created this page.
The chippies were quite bright and colourful so I left the page fairly neutral with a few pops of colour from the Cocoa Vanilla Studio "Boys Rule" collection.

"Fingers and Toes" Scrapbook Layout by Louise

Hi Crafters

Sharing a new scrapbook layout "Fingers and Toes"

While recently looking through some baby albums I found a bunch of photos that hadn't been scrapped. So I'm working through some baby pics (even though my boys are now 5).

I started with the lovely Fingers and Toes chipboard.
I've used Colour Blast Embossing powder in "Indigo" to colour it.

I also discovered this super sweet "ABC" blocks chippie.
I decided to leave it a little raw.
I used water colours to highlight the letters and then used the Uniquely Creative sparkle pen to colour the edges.

Other elements on this page are watercolour background, paper frames, splatters, stickers and paper layers.

"Blessed" Scrapbook layout by Louise

Hi Crafters

One of my favourite things about chipboard - it really is so easy to embellish a page and create texture without too much effort.

Today's layout is a lovely simple page ... "Blessed"

I just love these adorable photos - they really show the friendship and individuality of my boys.

I've used the title Blessed
and coated it with white heavy gesso before creating a ombre look by combining distress crayons

In the layout you'll also find the Nested circles
which I've covered with "Apple of my Eye" embossing powder.

Background is simply Colour Blast paste "Sunshine" applied through a stencil and paper layering.

I'm loving the bright and textured result of this page - especially with the vibrant photos.

It was lots of fun and super easy to put together.

Thanks for visiting.

"Catch of the Day" Step by step scrapbook layout by Louise

Hi Crafters

I'm sharing a step by step for the creation of my layout "Catch of the Day"

One of my challenges to myself in 2018 is to use my stash.
So I go to the back of my paper collections and must create something, using those papers.
Today it's an older collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio.

***

Firstly I chose a chipboard piece ...
the Catch of the day word is perfect for my fishing mad family!

I started with a white 12x12 cardstock background and then did some paper tearing - it's one of my favourite ways to add interest and texture.

Next, I covered my chipboard piece in white heavy gesso.
I also played around with placement and background elements - using the papers as inspiration for the triangle pieces.

I then adhered everything down and added some background stamping.

Using the collection as inspiration I added Colour Blast Shimmer Cube in "Deep Water" to the stamped circles with a few little splatters too.

To coordinate my chipboard I used Distress Crayons to achieve the desired colour.

I added a little bit of black around the chipboard title and added foam squares to the back, to help it lift off the page.

I generally add my journalling last - even if it's just a date or year - so that I know where the photo will fit in an album (when I eventually get around to putting them away LOL).

Here is the finished layout.

"Brothers" Scrapbook layout by Louise

Hi Crafters

Here to share a new scrapbook layout "Brothers, Buddies, Best Friends"

When my mojo has taken a holiday ... I download a new cut file and have a little play.
This page is a backed cut file, which I've then embellished.
Firstly with Colour Blast spray in "Bling"

Then I've done some stash busting.
Collecting items with the turquoise and black colour theme in mind.

On this page, I've used the Brothers Word and treated it with Colour Blast "Envy" embossing powder.

Thanks for visiting.

"Fantastic Autumn Day" Scrapbook Layout by Louise

Hi Crafters

Sharing something a little different.

 "Fantastic Autumn Day"

In the A2Z Scraplets Store you will find some great "Summer, Autumn, Winter & Spring" titles.
For this page, I've used the Autumn word and decided to make it a real title focus.

I started by cutting the word "Day" with the Silhouette Cameo and then I wanted to raise it up and put some colour behind it.
The Autumn word has two coats of Colour Blast Embossing Powder "Apple of my Eye"

The colour inspiration for this page, came from the photos. Master Z playing in this fun green playground equipment.

I decided to focus on those green colours - I added Colour Blast sprays to the background and then lots of distressed stamping around the edges.

I really like how different this page is to my usual paper style layouts and as a bonus it was really easy and fun to put together.

"So happy together" scrapbook layout by Louise

Hi Crafters

Time to share a new layout "So happy together"

So 2018 has seen me focus on stash busting instead of "shopping" for new supplies.
I am loving the challenge of creating with items already available to me.

Behind the photo you'll see the circular piece of black and white.
This is actually a centre piece of chipboard left overs that I've covered with washi tape and paper strips.

To title this page, I've used the "So happy together" word

Firstly I've applied a coat of Colour Blast Embossing Powder "Just Blue".
Then I've masked the "So happy" words with washi tape before painting "together" with gel medium.
While the gel medium is still sticky, I've sprinkled the whole word with glitter.

Other elements on the page are a Charm's Creation star, Colour Blast paste and lots of paper layers.

"Hello" Scrapbook layout by Louise

Hi Crafters

Sharing a new layout "Hello"

I just adore this 8x8 Chain mesh texture piece.

Firstly I've coated the whole thing with white gesso.
Then I've cut some circles and  backed them onto the chipboard piece.
Finally I pulled some of the colours from the papers I used and coloured the chipboard with coordinating distress crayons.
The black stamped background, really helps separate the chipboard and the layers from the background.

For the title of used the "Hello" piece and treated it with black gesso.

The background paper is a resist from DCWV and I've sprayed it lightly with Colour Blast sprays - I only wanted very subtle colour.
I've embellished the page with stickers, flair and a charms creation heart.
I framed the whole layout by adding a little extra black gesso around the edges of the page.

"Dream, Believe" scrapbook layout by Louise

Hi Crafters

My share is a new scrapbook layout "Dream Believe"

This page features the "Dream, Believe" chipboard.
I've left it raw and then sprayed it with the Colour Blast "Indigo" spray.
This has given it a more "Navy" feel rather than Indigo because of the raw chipboard.

I've also used the Swirly Frame chipboard.
Simply coated with white gesso and Colour Blast embossing powder "Snow White".

I've used the My Minds Eye "Blush" collection for this layout.
The background paper had a coat of clear gesso, then I added lots of splatters using different size brushes of Colour Blast shimmer spray in "Steel"

A little bit of background stamping, some journalling and stickers finish this layout nicely!

Thanks for visiting.

"Captured Moment" Scrapbook Layout by Louise

Hi Crafters

Sharing a new layout

 "Captured Moment"

This page features the adorable Captured Moment chipboard
I've added a coat of Colour Blast "Just Blue" to go with the blue elements in my layout.

I've also used the nested circles chipboard
which I've treated with Colour Blast embossing powder in "Steel"

I've stash busted an older Kaisercraft collection for this page and left it nice and simple.
Behind the circles is some foiled paste, a little bit of Colour Blast paste "Singin the Blues" and some diamontes make for a lovely, easy backgroun.

Thanks for visiting.
