{Pretty, Happy, Funny, Real}

Capturing the context of everyday contentment one photo at a time....
{Pretty}

Our two year old little heart stopper, she is such a sweet thing and looked adorable bundled up. (I live in Texas this is usually as bundled up as we get ;) )

{Happy}
After 5 years of living on land that needed a tractor we finally found and bought a tractor in our price range. As you can see it ain't exactly a brand new Kubota or John Deere. We pay cash and when you pay cash $14K+ for a tractor is a lot of money so you look for MUCH cheaper used ones like this one.  It's not new but it's new to us and I was so excited to get it I spent the next day shredding! Our property is so overgrown there are so may places the kids cannot use and we cannot go because we cannot get through the brush. This Ford 2000 made me HAPPY!!!!

{Funny}
In case you cannot tell that is our three youngest children and the two middle girls have set up a hair salon and everyone is getting their hair wet and done. They are speaking with fancy accents and having lots of fun. Don't worry no scissors were used in this reenactment.

{Real}
So, I've been organizing our home to make it more Mama friendly and this is our toy and book area. A big ole mess! There are several kinds of toys in that box and many toys  that need to go to the trash. I've been inspired by Leila to organize and clean up around here so we've been rather busy when school is not in session!

{Pretty, Happy, Funny, Real} Birthday & Ball

Capturing the context of everyday contentment

{Pretty & Happy}

We celebrated sweet boys 1st birthday on Sunday. I have soooooo many pictures of him with cake on  his face smiling so you'll have to create a mental picture because since he's not adopted I can't showcase his big smile on the blog. But rest assured he was covered in blue frosting and VERY happy!

{Funny}

All day long Shooshoo insisted on wearing this costume and running through the house. She was so happy folks were calling her super Shooshoo!

{Real}

Our days are pretty busy but we did manage to squeeze in some schoolwork and play some softball. Or as we homeschoolers call it Physical Education.
Sugar Pie & Sweetie working on their Geography State Study.
Bullet stretches at softball practice.

{Pretty, Happy, Funny, Real} Vacation Edition

Capturing the Context of Contentment

So last week Auntie Leila suggested we might want to take it easy with the arrival of a new kiddo. I really was going to take her advice but just in case we all got sick during our much anticipated trip to San Antonio Sea World. I HAD to take it easy for another week. I think I will plan next week and finish testing and then ease into school the following week. Thanks for the reminder Auntie! *smile*

{Pretty}
After 45 minutes to an hour of screaming during which time we scared away about 3 families with toddlers this sweet little one finally gave in. You can see how red she is in the picture, from the screaming.

{Happy}
Okay, who isn't happy feeding a dolphin? Well, maybe the fish ;)

Bullet feeds the dolphins while Dad is ready to touch one.

{Funny}

Yes, I know this is a horrible picture but it's the only one I have. That my friends is an ostrich and after Sea World  on the way home we went to the drive through Safari. During the drive through this enormous ostrich (which was nearly as tall as our 12 passenger van) attacked my window. Of Course Shooshoo was sitting in my lap and we were both traumatized. The thing hit the window about 8 times before deciding it couldn't get through it to eat us!Yes, I know in theory ostriches aren't carnivores but I don't want to be the one to prove the theory wrong! So after it was all said and done we (excluding the 2 year old twins who were screaming!) were all laughing so hard we were crying. I'd also like to mention my husband had made fun of me for rolling up the window as soon as I saw that big bugger round the corner of the van, saying I was a worry ward. Well now we all know Ostriches attack!

{Real}

Inside that stroller is our 7 year the victim of the first victim of the rotovirus. At the end of our last day as we were loading up into the car she announced. "You know Sea World wasn't as fun as I thought it was going to be." So let me make sure I understand this...if you spend your vacation running to the bathroom every 30-45 minutes its a bummer?!?!? hmmm...My poor sweet girl.
Well I hope everyone had a wonderful and contented week! God Bless you!

{Pretty, Happy, Funny, Real}

Capturing the context of contentment in everyday life, welcome to our {Pretty,Happy, Funny,Real}

{Happy}
This kiddo is happy and silly all the day long. She is actually playing with her 3 younger siblings and making faces while she matches the shapes. It was so precious!

{Funny}

While exploring his new environment our new little guy got stuck under his brother's chair.

{Real}

Our first week back to school we are not going full force but the kiddos started their Currclick on line class this week and we worked on our standardized tests. So basically, they are back to school and I am still preparing for school. With the arrival of a new little one we may be blessed to adopt my schedule is all thrown off and my life has gone Topsy turvy!
