There Were No Footsteps When I Walked

I do not know how or why I embarked on that trip,

They laughed at me saying everything I did was a blip!

With the herd mentality, they indulged in copy-paste-

Anything original & great, they'd own up after a taste!

Craft Reflects The Craft

Sita was excited when the National Sculpture Competition was announced.

For the past year, she had been devotedly working on an idol of God though some remarked- "You being a female, how and why are you in this man’s trade?”

People mocked and questioned her- “How can you even dream of your art getting selected or expect winning?"

Two of his colleagues stole his ideas, took credit for his hard-work & earned the perks & promotion he deserved! 

It was not in his nature to be vindictive to those two partners in crime, who were room-mates & like birds of a feather flocked & stayed together.

HE was always larger than life for her.
HE was the one she could remember.
She loved HIM passionately since inception.
Complete surrender & faith; no question.

She wrote letters to HIM every time,
Creatively expressing in prose/rhyme,
When life sprung up marvels or surprises,
When she earned brickbats or won prizes.

Those letters she didn't know where to post.
No idea about the address of her dost!
As many homes were HIS abode,
Which path to travel, the right road?

She was wondering about HIM that morn,
Philosophically thinking why she was born.
A group of monkeys appeared out of nowhere.
They started screeching with crazy antics there.

I was snug under my blanket,
Peacefully sleeping and dreaming.
Mom woke me up saying we'll get late...

The first day at school for me- a 5-year-old!
Mom made me wear my new dress.
Also my warm clothes lest I feel cold.

7 Secrets Of The Goddess

I loved the title '7 Secrets of the Goddess' & the resplendent book-cover of Mr. Devdutt Pattanaik's latest book. Thus, I became interested to read & volunteered to be a part of the BlogAdda Book Review Program.

Mr. Devdutt Pattanaik, a doctor, consultant  & mythologist, juggles many roles with ease. 

I have been planning to read his previous books such as '7 Secret of  Shiva' & '7 Secrets of Vishnu'. Thanks to BlogAdda, I got introduced to the latest book of the author.

As I haven't read any of his previous books, I cannot compare his latest offering with the previous ones. This is an advantage.

However, I committed a mistake of judging the book from its cover. On the cover, seeing a beautiful Goddess (from the book, I learnt later that she is Goddess Balambika- the daughter of humanity), I felt the book is only about Indian Goddesses.

7 Secrets of the Goddess - Book (Cover)

'7 Secrets of the Goddess' has the word "the" in the title.

 It's not about one particular Goddess. It's about the Goddesses all over the world.

'Never judge a book from its cover'- I again reminded myself.

Favorite Playthings- Puppets

Puppets of different shapes & sizes- His creations were His favorite playthings,

He was in charge of their destinies- whether they'll be grounded or have wings...

He pulled the strings as per His wish & the puppets danced to His music.

King & Queen In God's Own Country

In Poovar, Kerala, India, after watching the sunset,
While leaving, I noticed that all the visitors had left...

Except for this cool Honeymooning pair-
They seemed like the King & Queen there!

He clicked her, She clicked him; The Honeymooners celebrated their whim!
Love-Connection shone bright though the Sun had set & the light was dim.
