Mike Huckabee: That South Carolina Report is an Absolute Lie
Are potential opponents of Mike Huckabee trying to push him into the race? Are they afraid of the platform he has hosting his own radio/cable program? Are they worried about how Huckabee is able to showcase his policy ideas each week contrasting it with President Obama's own failed policies? Do they not like that Mike Huckabee has access to media where he can shoot down the lies being told about him and get out the true facts?
It is rather interesting that bloggers and DC insiders want Mike Huckabee to officially declare his intentions on whether or not he will run in 2012. Lest they forget Mike Huckabee has already done that, he clearly stated that it would be his race his pace, that he would miss the first set of debates, that he would prayfully consider a run, and that he would declare his intentions in the summer. Yet they keep pushing for an answer and this week we saw operatives pushing false information. Wesley Donohue, a former worker for Mitt Romney's 2008 campaign was the one who jumped the shark. Starting a story with anyomous players telling him that Mike Huckabee released his 2008 South Carolina supporters to go work for other campaigns. Donohue-who now works for Gingrich-stands by his story while not releasing any names of those so called informants. Erick Erickson of Redstate was one of the first to actively promote this on twitter. Matt Drudge-a supporter of Romney's in 2008, linked to the story by selectively placing "Huckabee Out of Race?" right next to the royal wedding pictures of Kate Middleton in her beautiful dress. Perhaps Drudge is worried that Mike Huckabee will be the next one to sit on the Republican nomination throne. To shed light on the whole bizarre story, Mike Huckabee cuts to the chase on the Willis Report and tells the viewers that the story is a flat out lie.
There you have it, Mike Huckabee again says he is still considering a run and will announce his intentions this summer.
Huckabee supporter, GrannyT researched this week's "Huckabee is out activity" and reported as follows:
Examining the “Huckabee Isn’t Running” Rumors
There have been rumors that Gov. Mike Huckabee won’t be running for President in the 2012 election cycle. I’m writing this to examine a few of those rumors.

The Latest 2012 GOP Polling Map
34 states have been polled since the midterm elections. Most of them were polled by Public Policy Polling. I included the polls done for Utah by Deserett News/KSL, the more recent poll done for Michigan by Strategic National, and the poll done for Georgia by 20/20 Insight because I’m not surprised at their results – Romney won the polls in Utah and Michigan and Huckabee won the poll in Georgia.
Huckabee has won the most recent polls in 17 states plus tied for 1st in 2 (AK, FL, GA, IA, IL, KY, MO, NC, NE, OH, PA, SC, TN, TX, VA, WI, WV plus ties for 1st in NJ and ME)
Romney has won the most recent polls in 10 states plus tied for 1st in 1 (AZ, CA, CO, CT, MA, MI, NH, NV, RI, UT plus tie for 1st in NJ)
Palin has won the most recent polls in 4 states (MT, NM, SD, WA)
Pawlenty has won the most recent polls in 1 state (MN)
Gingrich has won a tie for 1st in 1 state among the most recent polls (ME)
Out of the 34 states that have been polled since the midterms – Huckabee has won 17 states (one half of all the states that have been polled) PLUS he’s tied for 1st place in two additional states.
This weekend PPP is supposed to be polling Michigan and North Carolina again. Whether or not Romney and Huckabee will be able to hold on to their leads in those states remains to be seen.

Mike Huckabee’s newest book, “A Simple Government”
Cross posted at Thoughts from Granny T
February 22, is not only my birthday – it is also the release date for Mike Huckabee’s newest book: A Simple Government: Twelve Things We Really Need from Washington (and a Trillion That We Don’t!) Today I was part of “an exclusive on-the-record interview conference call” with former Governor/ former (and hopefully future) Presidential candidate, Mike Huckabee discussing his new book.
I support Mike Huckabee – because his views come closer to mine than any other political candidate I’ve found. I believe we need a Republican Presidential nominee that is willing to stand strongly on all three legs of the Republican platform: social, fiscal, and defense. Listening to Mike Huckabee on that conference call today convinced me even more that he is the one I want leading America.
Here are some reasons why – just from the conference call today:
* He was prompt. The call was supposed to start at 3:15 Eastern and it started at 3:15 Eastern.
* He realizes you can’t talk about the economy without talking about the family.
* He realizes that a great deal of our problem with the economy is because of failed families.
* He realizes the differences between the family’s responsibilities and the government’s.
* He realizes that if people would give “one dime on every dollar they make” to their own churches we wouldn’t need government programs and explained how the church he attended in Arkansas helped provide children with food for the weekend.
* He realizes there shouldn’t be a “disconnect between social conservatives and fiscal conservatives.” “All SoCons are FiCons – but not all FiCons are SoCons” and voting records prove it.
* He realizes our founders expected our Government to be administered as locally as possible and would be willing to get rid of the Department of Education so that could be more possible.
* He realizes that “education is the ticket out of the hole” that can turn tax takers into tax payers.
* He realizes the “common opponent is Barack Obama and not each other.”
* He realizes it is troubling that we are fighting these wars with guards and reserves that aren’t complaining because they are good soldiers. “We’ve worn them out.” They were supposed to be here to help at home.
You can read an excerpt from the first chapter of Mike Huckabee’s book by clicking here.
Here is a link for a map of where you can get Mike Huckabee to autograph your copy of his new book and a link with a list of places he will be on tour and/or places where you can order it.
I haven’t received my copy of his book yet; but will be getting my birthday gift autographed at the book signing in Dubuque this weekend.

Viewing the 2012 GOP Race
Cross posted at Wise Republic
H/T to a fellow Huckabee supporter, Randy Melchert who shared a link so I could create a map.
The site I’m using doesn’t give me an option to update; so the gif link will change every time I update the map with new polling results. I will try to keep it up and keep it as accurate as possible by using the latest polling results for each state.
Huckabee and Romney are tied for 1st in New Jersey with 18% each.
There are two states that have “someone else” other than Huckabee, Romney, Palin, or Pawlenty. Senator Thune won the poll for his home state of South Dakota with 37% of the vote. Romney and Palin are tied for 2nd with 12% each and Huckabee is right behind them with 11%. Senator DeMint won his home state of South Carolina with 24%. Huckabee came in 2nd with 20%, followed by Romney with 17% and Palin with 12%.
The states that have been left white have not been polled since the midterm elections. There have been 33 states polled since the midterm elections.
Huckabee has won 14 of the 33 states plus tied for 1st in one (IL, AK, KY, VA, MO, IA, PA, FL, TX, NC, WV, NE, GA, TN, tied in NJ) and 2nd place in 8 states plus tied for 2nd in 1 (CT, MT, OH, WI, MI, SC, AZ, NM, tied for 2nd in CO) – giving him 1st or 2nd place wins in 9 Southern states, 7 Midwestern states, 5 Western states and 3 Northeastern states.
Romney has won 9 of the 33 states plus tied for 1st in one (CT, MA, NV, MI, AZ, CA, CO, UT, NH, tied in NJ) and 2nd place in 4 states plus tied for 2nd in 2 (ME, WA, FL, IA tied in AK, SD) – giving him 1st or 2nd place wins in 1 Southern state, 3 Midwestern states, 7 Western states, and 5 Northeastern states.
Palin has won 6 of the 33 states (ME, WA, MT, OH, WI, NM) and 2nd place in 10 states plus tied for 2nd in 2 (KY, MO, MA, MN, NV, PA, WV, NE, TX, TN, tied in SD, CO) – giving her 1st or 2nd place wins in 4 Southern states, 6 Midwestern states, 5 Western states, and 3 Northeastern states.

Summarizing the state polling
Before I post my summary; I want to point out something. Today I found 3 states that have been polled by both Public Policy Polling (PPP) and Strategic National (SN). Since there has been numerous comments on various sites; I felt it necessary to research whether or not PPP is as bad as some claim. I wish I had more states to compare; but until very recently I had been deleting older polls as the newer ones came in. So, here is what I found to use to compare the two firms.
Iowa: Public Policy Polling 1/11/11 and Strategic National 1/25/11:
PPP: Huckabee 30% compared to SN 27.56% (2.44 point difference)
PPP: Romney 18% compared to SN: 18.54% (0.54 point difference)
Michigan: PPP 12/10/10 and Strategic National 1/28/11:
PPP: Huckabee 22% compared to SN: 18.8% (difference of 3.2 points)
PPP: Romney 22% compared to SN: 24.4% (difference of 2.4 points)
New Hampshire: PPP 1/9/10 and Strategic National 1/25/11:
PPP: Huckabee 13% compared to 13.83% (difference of 0.83 points)
PPP: Romney 40% compared to SN: 33.51% (difference of 6.41 points)
My analysis: 1. It sure doesn't look like PPP was trying to make things look all that great for Mike in New Hampshire. 2. The only difference in placements was that PPP had Romney and Huckabee tied in Michigan - which even surprised me - and PPP had Palin and Newt tied for third in New Hampshire. Are those differences really worth throwing out all of their polls? IMO - No, we'll use what we get.

"Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr."
America has come a long way for civil rights since Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his “I Have a Dream” speech on August 28, 1963. Many Americans have the day off from school and/or work to honor Dr. King’s work for racial equality. Here is a link that allows you to listen to or read the transcript from that historical speech.
Former Governor Mike Huckabee has been an advocate for racial equality for the majority of his adult life. I did a Google search to find some information to use in my blog and found that someone had already written a very informative article. Here is the link to, "Martin Luther King and Mike Huckabee: Two dreams become one" that was posted today.
Gary Walter might not know who wrote the blog he quoted from; but I do. It was written by a dear friend and fellow Huck’s Army member that goes by the pseudonym, “The Values Voter”. He doesn’t spend much time blogging right now because he is working hard writing his first book. Here is the direct link to his blog article “Why black voters love Mike Huckabee”.
While taking time to remember and honor Dr. King; read Huckabee’s blog article from today posted on the HuckPAC site, “Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.”

Huckabee Leads in AOL 2012 Poll (Romney, Palin, Gingrich within MOE)
I haven't seen the results of the new AOL Poll: Half Would Consider GOP Prez in 2012 posted anywhere yet. The PDF file has a pretty good breakdown of the internals. Page 11 gives the results of each of the candidates in each bracket.
The article has a couple fairly good images that sum up the results:
