Avraham Rosenberg leading a group of boys, named the Tzivos Hashem Boys Choir, at the Lubavitcher Rebbe's Kos Shel Bracha, on Motzei Simchas Torah 5742/1981.
Avraham Rosenberg shortly after this event occurred, went on to form the legendary group, The Tzlil Vizemer Boys Choir.
Shloime Dachs, one of the most popular child soloists of that era, can be seen here singing solos to "Wake Up Yidden" and again towards the end to "Ve'ahavta'.
Those that were there will remember that the Rebbe ZY"A didn't seem to give special attention to the choir, until the very end when they concluded, and the Rebbe asked Yossi Piamenta OBM for the group to return and continue singing. As can be seen on the clip, those last few minutes, past two o'clock in the morning in 770, were something very special.

Tzlil Vzemer Boys Choir "Kol Rina" 1984 Ft. Mendy Wald
Gruntig.net in conjunction with Nostalgic Productions present you with a very rare video recording, of Avraham Rosenberg's Tzlil Vzemer Boys Choir, featuring one of the greatest child soloist of that era, Mendy Wald.
Though you may know him from his albums, Mendy Wald, was a star child soloist on Tzlil Vzemer's "Wake up Yidden" album, as well as on their Volumes 1 through 4. He was a widely sought after child soloist, recorded on various albums, including 613 Torah Avenue and others. This November of 1984 concert, (which also featured MBD and others), was his very last live childhood performance with the Tzlil Vzemer Boys Choir. Mendy, also has the same solo seen blow, on the studio recorded Tzlil Vzemer volume II album, which would be released several months after this performance.
Singing "Kol Rina" which would later be the first track on their Volume two album, though here it was performed as the concert finale.
A Gruntig Exclusive!

Sholom Aleichem - Avrohom Fried & Tzlil Vizemer
Avraham Fried after the finale of a concert in Isreal with the Tzlil Vizemer Boys Choir, circa 1993.
During the concert some of the choir boys imitated different singers such as Piamenta. One boy had the job of singing Reb Shmuel Brazil's Sholom Aleichem in what was supposed to be an imitation of Avraham Freid, since the latter is famous for singing that in his own unique way. At the end of the concert Avremel went over the that child and sang with him.
At the end you can hear one of the kids, a little Mechutzef, chanting in the microphone "MBD MBD"!
(you can see this more clearly in the full version of the video. Watch the full video in the extended post)

Oldie of the Week ~ Our Ancestry - 1980
Presenting Old Jewish Musical Jewels (O.J.M.J) which due to their age are not very well known to the younger generation.
The song will first be posted here on the main page and remain for approximately a week (we try) on the right column above the three featured videos of the week.
The tenth song in this series features the song "Our Ancestry" from the album "Wake Up Yidden" by Camp Gan Yisroel of Montreal, Canada, a Lubavitcher camp under the directorship of Rabbi Berel Mochkin, along with Avraham Rosenberg's Tzlil Vezemer Boys choir. The album was the recording debut of the Tzlil Vezemer Boys Choir and was released somewhere around 1980 or 1981.
Soloists are, Shloime Dachs as a child (pictured left), and the choir's director Avraham Rosenberg (pictured below right).
Regarding the composition of the song; it's is an old chasidic tune and is very popularly played ad Chuppos. It is knows by many as the Bobover March. I have also seen it referred to as "Umalchuso" of Viznitz.
The words of the song i assume were written by someone from the camp. Anyone with more info is welcome to post.
Lyrics:
Our ancestry stems from just one man
Melody Composed by: Traditional.
Soloist: Child Soloist Shloime Dachs and adult soloist Avraham Asher Rosenberg.

Lyrics:
Our ancestry stems from just one man
Symbolizing our unity
Our souls are twins, our Father one
Separated only bodily
כאיש אחד בלב אחד
Yisroel encamped נגד ההר
Receiving Torah from the Almighty
Whatever you disfavor
Keep from your neighbor
Is the Torah in entirety
אוהב את הבריות ומקרבן לתורה
Is the derech for a Jew to follow
Opening the door to היתה אורה
Terminating our Golus sorrow
Melody Composed by: Traditional.
Soloist: Child Soloist Shloime Dachs and adult soloist Avraham Asher Rosenberg.

Tzlil V'Zemer Boys Choir - Chanuka Oh Chanuka
I think this was originally done for the Chanukah Live sometime around the year 1996 or 98.
"Chanukah Live" arranged by Chabad, began in 1991(?), was a live broadcast of Chanukah Menorah lightnings around the world.

Tzlil Vezemer Boys Choir with Avraham Fried & Yossi Green
The Tzlil Vezemer boys choir in concert in Israel with its conductor Avraham Rosenberg performing the song Ohr Chodosh, a track off of their third album. Also appearing are Avraham Fried and Yossi Green.
I'm not sure the exact date but certain details lead me to believe its from around 1992 or 1993.
Here's another from the same concert, performing "Achas Shoalti".

Hinei Onoichi - Tzlil Vzemer 1991
Tzlil Vzemer Boys Choir singing Hinei Anoichi, a beautiful composition off of their fifth album.
Soloist is Moshe (AKA Moe) Kiss with a little bit of help at the end from Yerachmiel (AKA Rocky) Zeigler and the young violinist whose name I don't know.
Brooklyn College, 1991.
Just a small disclaimer: The video was recorded backstage, so the audio quality is not the greatest and the view is obviously from the rear, also expect a few short interruptions by the private photographer(s).

Zohar Then & Now
Zohar as an adult, introduced by Nachum Segal, at the Tzlil Vzemer Boys Choir concert in Queens, NY. Although the title says then and "now", the video below is from late 1987(if I'm not mistaken).
Zohar (full name: Zohar Aghbashoff?) was a superb Soloist as a child in Avraham Rosenberg's Tzlil Vzemer Boys Choir. with many solos on Their Volume two and three albums.
He also had his own soloist album as a child (1985?), produced by Avraham Rosenberg. And then he had one more of his own, as an adult, titled "I Am Back".
Below is a recording of Zohar as a child (just a few years before this video was recorded).
Track one from his solo album.
