Cup Shaped Card

Hey everyone!! It feels great to blog after a short break. My lo leaves no time on hand for crafting and hence no posts here. Just managed to create one card for my DH on his birthday. Hence the use of the letter R, the first letter of his name.

I got this cup shape from the net and made my template for the card. I created a pocket in it to place a tag for writing the message. Then I filled it up with beautiful chipboard flower embellishments.

This is how it looks when the tags are taken out. Hope you like it.

Hope you like my creation...

All Star - Masculine Card

Hi. Today I have another masculine card to share. I wanted to try this tiled look and so decided to use pattern papers for the same. All the pattern papers are from single paper pad listed below.

The paper is so pretty and has so many elements that I really didn't need to add many embellishments to it. I made a star from scrap cardboard piece. The compass is stamped and distressed. I used a chain from my stash and attached it to the compass. The sentiment is from Just Rite All Boy stamp set.

I've used the left over paper scraps for the inside of the card.

The pattern paper used here is from Prima - Engraver paper pad which I had won at a challenge at BGC.

Magic Explosion Box - Beer Bottles and Cake

I love making explosion boxes and I have made a no. of them in varying themes. One of my client wanted an exploding box for her husband's bday. She wanted me to incorporate beer bottles inside the box along with cake. This itself started ringing a bell in my mind and I began imagining how it would shape up.

Here's a look at the box. I loved the color combo :) How do you like it???

 Top view...
 Let's open the box now..

This is how the box looks from inside... Whole lot of personal messages and cute pics.

I made the beer bottles from old wedding card and some stickers (the golden part). For the beer mugs, I stuck these Pie Lane glasses on brown CS and cut out a cup shape from it. Isn't the square cake so adorable :)

Thanks for dropping by :)

Father's Day card for Lulupu Challenge DT Inspiration

Hey guys! It's the start of a brand new month and we have a fabulous challenge up at Lulupu blog - My First Love, My Dad!! This is my take on this month's theme. I actually wanted to make a guitar shaped card but wasn't sure how it would shape up as the top part of the card would become very thin. So instead I used these fabulous PPs from my Lulupu DT kit and hand cut this guitar. For the guitar I have used a PP from Zephyr paper pad. For the bg I have used MME 6x6 Blink of an eye paper pad.
A closer look at the detailing..
The sentiment is a print out from a digi I found on the net. I have adhered it using a brad so that it can be moved around.

Happy Birthday Dad

Hi friends. Here is a card I made for my dad. His birthday was on 11th October. It's a sheer co-incidence that I used only green colors PP for the card. My dad has retired from Indian Army and their uniform color is also Green :) [Olive Green].
The embellishments are handmade and are a mashup of various things. I removed one layer form cardboard box and got this corrugated sheet. Then I cut it into heart and flower shapes. The center of the flower is a piece of metal from broken bracelet.
I layered the heart with tile punch cutout. Then I drilled 2 holes into it like a button and threaded the string.

Happy Birthday Bro

Hi. Today I am sharing a card I made for my brother's birthday. It's such a task to make cards for men. I can only think of Blue and Brown colors to be used :)
I have layered 2 PPs for the card and 1 embossed plain blue paper, which is actually not quite visible.
For the center part I did some stamping in black on the blue oval die cut. Then I stuck the alphabets on top of the die cut.
The black ribbon is from my stash and the button is from Pie Lane.
Also wanted to share that I was in Top 3 at Lulupu for their Make you own embellishments challenge for this card and I also won Hussena's challenge at Yvonne's blog for my Sweet peas card.

This Used to be...Price Tags

Hi All. This is the second card I made using Tim Holtz Stamp set. I have used 4 elements from the stamp set to create the bg. If you scroll below, you will see the stamp used and also the elements that were recycled to embellish the card.
I have made these flowers using 5 petal punch. This is the same punch I used to create the roses here.
I have used 3 different tags to make the leaves, flowers and to place behind the die cut.
The tutorial to make these leaves is shared here.

In case you missed the other card that I made with same stamp, here it is..
I am entering them in PPS Challenge.

Vintage Charm

Hi peeps! I am so happy to share this card. I had bought this pretty stamp set from Kavitha's store long back and couldn't get to use the Eiffel Tower. I have tried to create a vintage look for this card and you know what, I actually used "vintage" paper for this.
The crumpled paper on top and bottom is from an old Diary from the year 1996. I actually love collecting diaries. I tore it randomly and crumpled and inked the edges to get this look.
The PP in the middle is from vintage queen Mallika, sent for a PP swap.
I have stamped other elements from the stamp set and cut them to use as embellishments, like the postal stamp on top and the round Paris stamp.
These are the same flowers I used in my card here. These are made by me using 5 petal punch. The tutorial to make these roses is here. Also see here my tutorial for making the leaves used in the card. I have made them out of old price tags.
A close-up of the stamp and the charm...The metal charm is from an old friendship band.
I have used this sketch from ICR and flipped it to make my card.

Happy Father's Day

Hey guys! Again popping in to post a card that I made as GD for ICRC18 - Celebrations + Masculine Card. I made this card for my dad. He has been my greatest supporter in whatever I did. He appreciates my work a lot. Thank you Dad!
About the card: These PPs and the star charm were sent to me by Mallika as part of a swap. Thanks dear. I think they go really well for a masculine card. The sentiment is a digi. There are many recycled items used in this card. Like the wooden bead used to hang the charm is from an old bracelet. The ribbon is the extra piece that you get with readymade gents trousers in a small packet along with a button and patch of cloth.
The green button is from Pie Lane. The metal button on top right came along the price tag of men's jeans.
The star is made from a price tag. I scratched the edges with craft knife to get a rugged look.

Bottle shaped card

Hey there! Today I want to share a card that I made for my dad's ex-boss on his retirement.
My mom and dad wanted me to make a card in a different shape so I came up with a bottle shaped card.
Here it is...
As you can see I also made a matching envelope with the card.
My dad had sent me the wordings for the card, so I stuck the greetings on the right inner side and made a tag for the left side.
The tag can also be used as a bookmark later.
A close-up of the front side...If you see carefully, the flourishes are actually the negative part of the punched border used for the envelope, which we normally discard. Also the little stars added on the greeting inside is from the punched border.

Mojo Monday 206

Hi. Today's card is based on Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge 206. I have demonstrated below how I made this card. Most of the supplies used in this card are recycled.

The background PP is cut out from a magazine. I used Levis price tag for the embelishment. The flower pot image is a stamp from Hobby Ideas. The ink used is also from Hobby Ideas.
The ribbon is actually the extra lining that we get with the readymade gents trouser. (They give it in a small packet with an extra button). The ribbon was placed such that it covered the text on the PP. Also the flower pot was strategically glued on the tag to hide text 'Levis'. The 2 sequins used on both sides of the ribbon are from an old top.
I cut the Levis tag into two parts. I punched out the flowers from the 2nd part of the tag.
Here's how you can make the flower. Punch out the flower in 3 different sizes.
Ink the edges of the flowers to give a shaded look. I have used brown ink from Hobby Ideas. Emboss the biggest petal from the reverse side.
It should look like this when turned upside down.
Now emboss it from the center from this side.
Emboss the 2nd petal in the same manner.
Emboss the smalled petal from one side only; the side which will be upwards.
Use a single punch to make the center of the flower in brown color. Emboss it too.
Layer the petals as shown and glue. You can vary the flower by adding just 2 petals, instead of 3.
