The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) was established on 20th September 1985 through an Act of Parliament, with the primary aim of making higher education accessible to every individual in the country. IGNOU has been a pioneer in distance and open learning in India, empowering learners from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.

In 1990, the IGNOU Study Centre 1307 was established at BLDEA’s J.S.S. College of Education, Vijayapur. Since its inception, the centre has been instrumental in providing flexible, accessible, and high-quality education. Currently, the centre offers 24+ programs, including prestigious courses like MCA and MBA, meeting the needs of learners aspiring to excel in various domains.

Functions of IGNOU Study Centre 1307

  1. Admission Promotion Activities:

    • Organize and conduct term-end examinations twice a year (July and December sessions).

KSOU B.Ed. Programme Details of Programme Execution

Introduction

The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) programme of KSOU (ODl mode) is offered in tune with regulations of NCTE-2014. B.Ed. programme in Open and Distance Learning Mode is designed with a professional touch without diluting quality and standards laid down by NCTE for the benefit of in-service graduate primary school teachers. The B.Ed. programme includes personal contact programmes (PCPs), weekend counseling and internship. The personal contact programmes (PCP) shall cover counseling/ teaching, workshops, seminar presentation and report writing conducted at learner support centers for a total period of 6 months. A minimum of 144 hours spread over two years shall be devoted to weekend counseling sessions.
