Absconding contractors,
--Messrs. Sage & Eaton, contractors for constructing the Cleveland and Toledo railroad between Elyria and Oberlin, have absconded, leaving unpaid a large number of hands, and debts contracted for board, materials, &c., amounting in all to about twenty-five thousand dollars.Two contractors on the St. Paul and Pacific railroad, now being constructed in Minnesota, have absconded with five thousand dollars of the company's money, entrusted to them for the payment of laborers.
