The gold excitement continues in Greene county, Pennsylvania. The editor of the Waynesburg Messenger has been furnished with a specimen of rock supposed to be a quartz, a stratum of which, about four feet in thickness, was found in one of the wells at a depth of five hundred and fifty feet. Ten feet below this, another vein of the same material was found, and twenty feet below this again still another was reached. Should it prove to be gold, arrangements will doubtless soon be made for mining it.
Greene county borders upon those counties in Virginia in which lead and other valuable minerals have been found in great quantities. We hope soon to see new mineral resources brought to light in this part of the State.
