The Cattle plague in England — Terrible and Increasing Ravages.

--The London Times says: ‘"The ravages of the cattle plague are even exceeding our recent anticipations. The actual return for the last week, we regret to say, instead of being 3,000 is nearer 4,000. In the first week of last month the cases were 1,765; in the second, 2,580; in the third, 2,669; and in the fourth, 3,610. At this rate of progress, which is only likely to be accelerated, we may easily have a return of 7,000 a week by Christmas. This is an alarming prospect. No specific has been discovered for the treatment of the disease."’

The Royal Agricultural Society have resolved that its usual annual meeting shall not take place until next year, on account of the plague.
