Washington Monument, This Morning, at 6½ o'clock.
Hidalgo Cortes.
Felicia Alvarez.
To my Friends, who are too numerous to assemble in my drawing-rooms, I announce the joyful event which is to consummate my happiness — my marriage — at the time and place mentioned in this card. This place is selected not only for the reason above stated, but for another, which is deemed creditable to a philanthropic spirit — the desire to gratify all who delight spectacle of human happiness. It has in it none of the contracted spirit which confines such an interesting ceremony to a little group of friends, under the paternal roof, only to be moved with tender sympathy by the sight of a pale and trembling girl receiving the parental blessing — an old Virginia usage, now becoming obsolete with the enlightening progress of refined society.
After the ceremony — dressed in the costume and jewelry thought to be appropriate, in our native town of Pampeluna, for a bridal tour — we will be immediately mounted upon Andelusian steeds, of the finest blood; and, after riding slowly around the statue, after the manner of the Plaza de Tauros, to receive expressions of approbation and congratulation, we will proceed on the pathway strewed for us with flowers.
