Released from confinement.
--William J. Brown and William Peasley, committed to Castle Thunder a few weeks since on the charge of aiding in the escape of a prisoner from the guard, were released from confinement, by order of the military court martial, on Friday last. Peasley was sent to his command and Brown assigned to duty at Chimborazo Hospital, he being unfit for field service.Ferdinand Fitchett, sentenced by court martial to six months imprisonment in Castle Thunder, the last month to serve at hard labor with ball and chain, on the charge of attempting to go to the Yankees, had his sentence remitted on Saturday, and was turned over to the custody of Captain Walker, of the Printers' Guard. Fitchett had served out about one month of his confinement, and, by his conduct, won the respect of the officers of the prison to that degree that they added their influence towards obtaining his release.
