Escaped execution.

--Samuel J. Bowman, a deserter, from one the extreme Southern regiments. was to have been shot yesterday in the presence of our army near Petersburg; but, while in Ironside from the guard-house to the place of execution, he broke from the guard and succeeded in getting away. The accused had been guilty of the same offence five times, and probably owes his life to the success of his last escape from the guard who had him in charge.
