Affairs at Vicksburg.
Meridian, Jan. 26
--The enemy exhibit unusual activity at Vicksburg.
Reinforcements have been sent there from Memphis.
Sherman and Staff arrived there recently, but their destination is unknown.
Stark's cavalry had a skirmish with the enemy at Messenger's Ferry, on Big Black, a few days ago. Some prisoners were taken and a number of Yankees killed.
Our cavalry had a brush with the Maine brigade, near Rodney, on the 18th, defeating the Yankees.

--Advices from Vicksburg, of the 20th, state that the enemy are making preparations to move out and occupy Jackson.
Pontoon bridges are being thrown across Big Black for that purpose.--Sherman left Vicksburg on the 18th, on a gunboat which went down the river.
