--The depravity of the Yankee paroled prisoners in our city, will force the State to enlarge the penitentiary, and the Council to build additional jails, if they are given liberty in the South. Not a day passes that the Mayor is not called upon to try some of these wretches, released on their paroles of honor, for larceny of some kind. Worthless at home and dangerous here, they should be kept in prison forever, unless exchanged by the Federal authorities.
