Beating his wife.

--Francis McNamara, a white man, was arraigned yesterday morning before the Mayor on the charge of beating his wife, and threatening to burn the dwelling of Joseph Stukenburg. The testimony in this case proved McNamara to be a man of bad character, and to have already been under bonds for good behavior. The former recognizance was therefore declared forfeited, and the accused again required to give bail in the sum of $500, for good behavior. Failing to do so, he was committed to jail.
