Operations on the Mississippi — the enemy's movements.

Jackson, Miss., April 17.
--Advices from Memphis, to the 13th, state that regiments will be sent to Mississippi, to act as cavalry. Corinth is reported largely reinforced; 30,000 troops having been sent there via Tennessee river. The Yazoo fleet has gone down the Mississippi. Two transports and one gunboat went down the 13th, and seven boats on the 15th. A large cavalry force passed Memphis, supposed for the Tennessee river.

The Mississippi is falling two feet daily at Memphis — a fall unprecedented.

A special dispatch to the Appeal, from Memphis, says the Bulletin and Argus were suppressed for publishing the Cincinnati Commercial's censure of Grant.
