A Woman Beaten to death by her husband in Memphis.
--We take the following paragraph from the Memphis Argus, of the 26th ult:‘ Christmas did not pass without a tragedy. Early yesterday morning a Mrs. Needham, who resides with her husband, a brutal fellow named John Needham, in an old dilapidated flatboat near foot of Exchange street, was murdered. Both were drunk the night before and had quarreled. In the morning Needham ordered his wife to get up and prepare the breakfast. She did not rise in sufficient haste to satisfy him, whereupon he aross and struck her several blows, with a cane. He then substituted a board for the cane, and dealt her a blow on the neck. She expired twenty minutes afterward. The alarm was given by some one, and the murderer in now in jail.
