Gen. Jackson's official report.
This document was received at the War Dement on Thursday. We made repeated applications yesterday for permission to copy it, and were assured that it would not be granted to any member of the press for a day or two to come. At a late hour last night we learned that it would appear in one of the Richmond journals this morning. We deem it necessary to make this statement, in order to expose the folly of those officials who seem to regard it their duty to withhold from the press generally such matters of interest as the public have a right to know.
