Richmond theatre.

--We are enabled to state that an arrangement has been effected through which the people of Richmond will have an opportunity of indulging their passion for dramatic entertainments during the fall and winter. The theatre, which is now undergoing some necessary improvements, will shortly be re-opened under the management of Prof. J. H. Hewitt, of this city. He is now engaged in securing the services of a good company, which will probably include Miss Ida Vernon, the Misses Partington, Mrs. De Bar, Miss Ella Wren, and other favorites of former days, with valuable accessions from the Southern States. Prof. Hewitt is thoroughly familiar with the popular taste in dramatic and musical matters, and we confidently look forward to an agreeable ‘"season."’ It is his present intention to commence about the 1st of November.
