Not correct.

--The report that we have seen copied in some of the Abolition journals of the death of 1st Lieut. J. W. Dempsey, of Company ‘"H,"’ 2d Regiment New York State Militia, is erroneous. The officer in question was wounded and taken prisoner by our forces, and has, since the battle, been at the General Hospital in this city under treatment. He was struck by a ball on the forehead, which pressed in the skull on the brain, the effects of which was prevented by trepanning. He is now as well as could be expected. The reporter of the Dispatch brings the individual to life at his own request.
