--Oscar Becker, the young man who attempted to assassinate the King of Prussia, belongs to one of the first families in Russia — his father being a Professor at Odessa, and one of his uncles a State Counsellor at Kiew. He himself has some literary reputation, having written several works, and translated a Russian tragedy into the German.
