The Prater for ‘"the President."’

--The Washington Star, of Monday; says:

Dr. Norwood, of Christ Church, (P. E.,) in Georgetown, who has for some time past omitted from the service the usual prayer for the President of the United States--inserting in lieu thereof a paragraph for his health and personal prosperity — took occasion yesterday, to read the circular letter of Bishop Whitingham, and to state that he could not conscientiously comply with it. He was very much agitated, and has called a meeting of the Vestry this evening, when it is expected he will dissolve his connection with his congregation.
