From New Mexico.
--A correspondent of the St. Louis Republican, writing from Santa Fe on March 24th, says:‘ The reading of President Lincoln's inaugural here yesterday, was the occasion of the most intense excitement. It was proposed to take immediate possession of the Government property, which could have easily been done, as there are but fifty soldiers in barracks.--But better counsel prevailed, and now I believe the people are willing to await the action of Missouri, with whom they consider their destinies so interwoven that they must follow her lead.
