Dramatic effect in a public meeting.

--The Lexington (Ky.) Observer says that at the conclusion of an eloquent address in defence of the Union, delivered in that city on Monday night, by Rev. C. B. Parsons, of Louisville, General Coombs stepped upon the stage with ‘"the star spangled banner"’ in his hand, which he waived amid the shouts of the multitude. Upon being called upon for a speech, he said: ‘"I do not intend to make a speech. All I can say is, that I have fought under this flag, and under it I expect to die."’
