Long faces.

--The longest faces that we have seen lately are worn by those who have given up their bets on the State election. We hear the most earnest declarations that they will never bet again — never. Speaking of the election, it was currently rumored yesterday that a close examination of the official returns (not including Wyoming and Webster counties) indicated the choice of nine electors for Bell, and six for Breckinridge! This is accounted for by the fact that in some counties certain names on the Bell ticket were erased, and others substituted. If this turns out to be the actual result, it is a somewhat remarkable state of affairs.
