Lo, the poor African.

--The politicians are making a practical use of Sambo in Philadelphia. It appears that of the fund contributed to aid the Black Republicans in the Pennsylvania election, $15,000 was collected from the negroes of that city. The subscription list was headed by a negro lumberman for $1,000, followed by an oysterman and a salt maker of the same complexion for $500 each.
