[54] τάων κτλ.: ‘asyndetic’ repetition of the preceding verse. See § 2 m.

τάων: the gen. depends on “πρόσθε”. Before these, i.e. for their protection.

ἵσταμαι: the pres. is used as if the time were already at hand.

μεγαίρω: synonymous here with “φθονέω”. sc. “τὰς διαπέρσαι”.
