Idmon
(Ἴδμων). The son of Apollo and of Asterié, daughter of Coronus; a seer who took part in the Argonautic expedition, although he foresaw that it would lead to his own death. He was killed by a wild boar in the land of the Mariandyni, in Bithynia, and was worshipped as a hero by the inhabitants of the town of Heraclea in Pontus, which was built around his grave by command of Apollo ( Rhod. i. 139).
