Icēni
A powerful people in Britain, dwelling north of the Trinobantes, in the modern countries of Suffolk and Norfolk. Their revolt from the Romans, under their heroic queen, Boadicea, is celebrated in history. (See Boadicea.) Their chief town was Venta Icenorum (Caister), about three miles from Norwich. Ptolemy calls them Simĕni (Σιμενοί).
