ἥξει καὶ πολύπους καὶ πολύχειρ ἁ δεινοῖς
490κρυπτομένα λόχοις
χαλκόπους Ἐρινύς.
ἄλεκτρ᾽ ἄνυμφα γὰρ ἐπέβα μιαιφόνων
γάμων ἁμιλλήμαθ᾽ οἷσιν οὐ θέμις.
495πρὸ τῶνδέ τοί μ᾽ ἔχει
μή ποτε μή ποθ᾽ ἡμῖν
ἀψεγὲς πελᾶν τέρας
500τοῖς δρῶσι καὶ συνδρῶσιν. ἤ τοι μαντεῖαι βροτῶν
οὐκ εἰσὶν ἐν δεινοῖς ὀνείροις οὐδ᾽ ἐν θεσφάτοις,
εἰ μὴ τόδε φάσμα νυκτὸς εὖ κατασχήσει.
