*NEW* Feature Friday - Gifts And Home Boutique 29th Of April

New Feature Friday!
Featuring Gifts and Home Boutique

Hi my lovelies! It's been long overdue for the regular Feature Fridays and I'm happy to bring it back this year; As you know, my feature Fridays were created to give awareness on small businesses, bloggers and creative minds. To give them a boost of well deserved views and I'm glad it has helped thus far. This week's feature is a lovely store that I came across called Gifts and home boutique ran by friends Sarah and Maz, They sell all things special for the home with personalized and sentimental options to choose from.
I think when it comes to finding a gift for someone on a memorable occasion that my usual go to would be for example Etsy, but since looking at this small online store it has really opened up ideas for future gift giving to come! Under categorized tabs, the web page helps you select the exact occasion your looking to buy for, including home decor ideas too! With quirky ideas that you can't find on the high street, Gifts and Home Boutique is a store to sure swoon over!

-------------------------------------------------------
Interview with Sarah l Owner of Gifts and Home Boutique

1) What has been your key inspiration to your current career?
We started our own business knowing we both shared the love of Personalised and thoughtful gifts for everyone and the home. We love shopping for all pretty little things that make great accessories and gifts for all occasions that offer that personal touch. we were both at a similar point in our careers and family lives to take this on and give it a go.

2) What do you enjoy the most about your job?
Getting to do something we truly love, we both enjoy sources new and beautiful personalised products for every occasion and add that extra special touch with most of our products been personalised, we generally adore everything we sell in fact that is our one rule "if we don't completely love it we don't sell it."

3) To date, what has been your 'proudest' moment?
As we started with a small shop on Facebook and as word spread and demand quickly grew we decided to open our own online store giftsandhomeboutique that you see today.

4) Where do you see yourself in the future?
We hope to maintain this for as long as possible or until we reached such a point that we can perhaps take on a shop of our own.

5) What tips/advice would you give to someone who wants to go down the same career path as yourself?
If its something that you long to do and have an opportunity to do it then give it a go, wherever we end up in the future we know we will never look back and wonder what if, we can both look back and say we tried.

-------------------------------------------------------

-------------------------------------------------------

*NEW* Feature Friday - Give The Dog A Bone 1st of November

New Feature Friday!
Featuring Give The Dog A Bone

Hello Lovelies! Hope you're having a grand Friday, and also enjoyed Halloween. It's the first of November and the first of this month's feature Fridays! Now this feature I've been so excited to show to my readers, mainly because this is a store I visit every time I go to York.
Give the dog a bone is a shop which consists of everything that's unique, different, quirky and fun! For the whole family they provide gifts and cards, pop culture to favourite comic and cartoons such as Danger mouse to TinTin!

My favourite brand which they sell there is Disaster designs/paper plane, with creative and unique purses and bags; it's always hard not to be tempted whenever I've been there of course!

It's a pleasure to interview the Manager of York's Give the dog a bone to hear about her job and to get to know more about her and the shop!

-------------------------------------------------------
Interview with Cat l Manager of Give The Dog A Bone

1) What has been your key inspiration to your current career?
My key inspiration is actually very simple: it is my personal taste! I started out just working in the shop as a Saturday girl, and the longer I've been working at ...give the dog a bone, the more I've come to realise that if you have a passion for what you do, that passion is easy for your customers to see, and it makes them enthusiastic about what you do or sell. I can genuinely say I love what we sell, and although you can fake it, nothing is more obvious to a customer than half hearted sales talk.

2) What do you enjoy the most about your job?
The thing I love most about my job is probably tied between making the displays – and picking what we sell! I LOVE thinking of creative ways to display the items we have to sell in our shop, and especially love designing the window displays. Recently we had a Super Mario themed window display and we made the entire window look like a level from Super Mario Bros. That is great fun. But I have to admit that I adore choosing new stock to sell and visiting trade shows to see what new items our suppliers have in the pipeline. It is like the biggest shopping spree ever, but without any of the regret, because it is all stock for the shop!

3) To date, what has been your 'proudest' moment?
My proudest moment I think has to be when one of our suppliers was so impressed by one of the Doctor Who displays we made that they featured it in their newsletter, used it as an example for other stockists, and even sent a copy to the BBC. It’s nice to know that even though we are a small business we can still make people sit up and take notice of us.

4) Where do you see yourself in the future?
In the future I think I’d like to run my own shop, but maybe make it more boutique style than ...give the dog a bone, maybe with clothes, and pretty shoes. Oh and with a chaise lounge in the changing room. Obviously!

5) What tips/advice would you give to someone who wants to go down the same career path as yourself?
If you’re wanting to go into working in the gift industry, I’d start out early on by getting work experience in either a small independent gift shop, or maybe somewhere bigger, like Paperchase. Experience on the shop floor is invaluable as you need to know not only how your customers think, but your staff too!

6) Which would you say is your favourite item off your website at the moment?
My favourite item HAS to be the new “Bohemia Satchel” by Disaster Designs. It is so beautiful and a really useful size too.

-------------------------------------------------------

*NEW* Feature Friday - Bella Sorella 6th of September

New Feature Friday!
Featuring Bella Sorella

Hello my beauties and happy Friday!! Writing this post still feels very surreal, I never would have thought I'd have this type of opportunity for my still growing blog, but I'm very proud to bring this week's Feature Friday business to you, Bella Sorella!
So some of you may already be aware that Bella Sorella is ran by sisters, Lydia Rose Bright (As seen in The only way is Essex) and Georgia May Bright.
Bella Sorella is a boutique which sells vintage inspired clothing, prom and red carpet dresses, quirky chintzy homeware and gifts (every girls dream!) Their shop was ready in just within 6 weeks with the supportive help by their father, Dave, who painted, re-built and decorated the store while the ladies went out to find the perfect pieces to display and sell in their dream boutique.
This has been a long dream for the sisters, and they've worked so hard to get where they have done.

'Under a year after Lydia started 'TOWIE' the show was already going global, (something none of the cast members ever predicted). Lydia was fast becoming an icon in the fashion industry as well as a household name. Whilst Lydia absolutely loved her new found fame, being a regular face appearing in magazines, on television and attending glitzy red carpet soirées, her passion for opening a boutique grew stronger. She longed for a place where she could showcase her unique fashion sense and quirky, vintage style (which many fans had grown to love).'

I still recall admiring Lydia's Vintage chic style on the show, it made me personally feel that we should all dare to style how we want to; if you enjoy it and you feel beautiful when wearing it then that's all that matters!

This is a new way to present my Feature Friday interview with you all but I hope you enjoy it!

Have a fabulous weekend and week ahead everyone!

New Feature Friday!
Featuring Tizzalicious

Happy Friday to you all! Today's Feature Friday is the awesome Tizzalicious who sells all things handmade, from jewellery to home wear! Rockabilly to kawaii cuteness is definitely on the list. The website is ever so welcoming, very well laid out and easy to navigate allowing you to shop by using different categories!

You can also receive free shipping when you spend at least £22.50; Perfect for when you would like to treat yourself or for someone else!

I was more than pleased to feature Tizzalicious here on UniqueLoveStyle, read on for our interview!

--------------------------------------------------

Interview with Maartje l Owner of Tizzalicious

1) What has been your key inspiration to your current career?
I am on disability because I suffer from chronic migraines. I didn't want to depend on that for the rest of my life, and as I have always been making things for myself, I decided to start making them for other people and sell them. What's better than making a living with something you love to do?

2) What do you enjoy the most about your job?
I love the feeling I get when someone buys something that I made. That people like what I come up with and create.

3) To date, what has been your 'proudest' moment?
I always feel very proud when I am mentioned in the press. I was featured in a few Belgian and Dutch magazines, and even a newspaper from South Africa!

4) Where do you see yourself in the future?
I hope that in a few years, I will be able to ditch my disability, and earn enough with my shop to make a living. I always dream of having my own little brick & mortar shop too, but that will probably stay just a dream a little longer.

5) What tips/advice would you give to someone who wants to go down the same career path as yourself?
Do what you love! If you want to make a living creating things, you have to make sure you love what you too. If you make things you don't love, you might as well work in a factory!

6) Which would you say is your favourite item off your website at the moment?
This is a hard one! But I think at the moment it would have to be the photoshop necklace I designed together with my friend Marjolein:http://tizzalicious.com/en/photoshop-icons-necklace-colors.html

-------------------------------------------------

-------------------------------------------------

My favourite pieces have to be the food themed jewellery! Kawaii and Rockabilly are my key styles though, which they have plenty of variety in. This is for sure another fun and unique company that I hope you check out, if you do let me know what your favourite items are in the comments section, I'd love to know!

Thank you ever so much for your participation Tizzalicious!
Your indeed an inspiration to me.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Interview with Ria l at Something Kawaii

1) What has been your key inspiration to your current career?

We decided to start the website after our trip to Hong Kong and seeing all the kawaii stuff  they had to offer. Coming back to the UK, we realised that there wasn't so much of that over here and it'd be great to start a business that brings all of the cuteness to the UK.

2) What do you enjoy the most about your job?

Discovering new products that are not yet available in the UK and are really unique is probably the best bit about my job. Also visiting trade shows and meeting people who are as passionate about kawaii things as we are.

3) To date, what has been your 'proudest' moment?

The redesign of Something Kawaii and seeing the new characters that we'd created has definitely been our proudest moment! To see our vision on the screen and printed out in banners and badges was an amazing experience!

 4) Where do you see your business in the future?

We'd love to open up actual shops around the country to spread the cuteness.

5) What tips/advice would you give to someone who wants to go down the same career path as yourself?

Patience and perseverance are key to having your own business. Once you've found your niche, believe in it!

6) Which would you say is your favourite item off your website at the moment?

We love the kawaii dust plugs at the moment! Personalising your phone whilst keeping it clean and looking cute.
