thank you cards for the Second Challenge of OWH VCMP

The Second Challenge is HERE - making a thank you card (or 5, 10, 15...) for Operation Write Home to send to our troops.

I used watercoloring technique to create the background with Aquoapaint brush.

A His card and A Her card for the First Challenge of OWH VCMP

Catching up very hard to bring my mojo back... still not there yet though... I made two cards.

First Challenge is HERE
Step 1: Choose an OWH Sketch.
Step 2: Use the sketch to make two cards: a his card and a her card.

I used the sketch #227A.  One change made that I placed my sentiment at the bottom panel.

OWH VCMP Final Challenge

Donna's challenge is to use a negative of a die or punch.  HERE is the link to her blog.

I made two cards out of one piece of paper that I did masking tape background stamping first and then stamped leaves in fall themed colors including heat embossing in gold.

Card #1

Card #2

Card #3 (working on)

OWH VCMP Sixth Challenge

The challenge HERE on this stop is to make a kiddie card using the following tic-tac-toe board.

I created a ladybug card.  I stamped around those ladybugs and colored in red only the little ones. I stamped the large ladybug three times on a red cardstock and cut out three different pieces to layer on top each other. Then I cut out parts of the head and the body from a black cardstock.  The wings are raised with dimensionals.  I punched out circles in black by the Owl builder punch.  I colored the background with Copic cool shadow marker.

I used the first row of tic-tac-toe board - Things with Wings, Stamping and/or Coloring, Using Punches or Dies.

I wonder how many legs does a ladybug have?

OWH VCMP Seventh Challenge

Marilyn's challenge is HERE to create a card using any sketch with a Fall theme.  Her suggestion is that your card can be I Love You or I Miss You card, or even a Thinking About You or Thank You, but not a Thanksgiving card. Use a leaf motif with fall colors - rusts, yellows, golds, red, dark greens, etc.

Here is my card to share.  I stamped the leave with Versamark watermark stamp pad and heat embossed with gold embossing powder.  Add colors by using stamping daubers.

Tip:

I used Freshly Made Sketches 101.

OWH VCMP Fifth Challenge

Donna's Challenge HERE to make a card with the Masking Tape Block Stamping Technique.

My take.  Once I completed the background of my card by masking tape block stamping technique, I stamped the snowflakes with Versamark watermark stamp pad and heat embossed them with the white embossing powder.  I used the embossing resistant technic by using stamping dauber.  I couldn't decide what sentiment would go with this card yet because I didn't want to cover the snowflakes.  I just like how the color turned out.

OWH Labor Day Weekend Virtual Card Making Party

Welcome to my Triple Die Cutting Technique Challenge for OWH Labor Day Weekend Virtual Card Making Party (VCMP).

I am so excited to participate in this event and have you on my Triple Die Cutting Technique Challenge.  "Triple Die Cutting" is to create the same concept of triple layered card but it is much easier to cut at once with a piece of cardstock and a piece of stamped or desinger paper.  You will love this technique and use it over and over again for every theme of card.

I didn't want to repeat the whole thing and take space here. Please go to my Triple Die Cutting Technique Tutorial HERE before you start.   You may not have the same dies but I encourage you to try by using any shapes of dies you have or even with the paper trimmer that you can cut inside of the paper.  Once you got the whole concept of this technique, it will become easier and fun, too.

EDIT:  Hope this picture will answer to your measurements questions.

Medium dies

Small Dies
** Actual die is sized 2-3/8" instead of 2-1/2".
Just space out evenly when you lay it down.

For today's challenge, I made new sample cards to share.  Instead of stamping as I showed before, I used designer papers this time.  You will need to choose designer papers with repeated patterns in them.

Card #1 Snowflakes

Card #2 Christmas Tree

Card #3 TRULY Grateful

Blog Candy:
I will pick one of the InLinkz participants at random to receive my blog candy.  It is Winter Frost Designer Series Paper Stack that I used to make my first card.

You will have until Sept. 8, 2013 to link up and play along!!!

OWH VCMP Challenge #6 - Any Hero card using a photograph

This is Julie's challenge: Make an Any Hero card using a photograph you took.
I used one of my photos that I taken at the Capitol Park Rose Garden.  I captured the squirrel
that was perfect in action after three shots.  I used the sentiment from Hero Arts Stamp. It doesn't look like Any Hero card by looking at but it will be.

Starting like this:  (Just Saying Hello) from Sacramento, California.  Dear Hero...

OWH VCMP Challenge #3 - Romantic Card

This is Sandy's Challenge: Create a romantic card using one of OWH technic tutorials. I tried the chalkboard technic again.  It doesn't seem to show much of chalkboard look.
