Nail of the Day: Pahlish Balneario

Nothing to Disclose
*This product is Cruelty Free

Happy Saturday! Today I have, as promised, Pahlish's Balneario to show you. This was the polish I used as the base for the Spooky Halloween Nail Vinyls Mani the other day.

Pahlish
Balneario

The thing about this polish is that it's pretty much a neon with micro-flakes, so it's not only great for Halloween, but for all seasons - depending on how you wear it. Today it's a bright reminder of summer.

Superficially Colorful: The Search Tempest and British Chocs

*These products are Cruelty Free

Superficially Colorful
British Chocs and The Search Tempest

Tonight I have 2 more beauties from Superficially Colorful's new collection called My Favorite Things. These polishes are all named from mostly funny moments from our group of friends and if I told you the story behind some of these names, well I might have to kill you! Here's how Jin described the names: A collection inspired by bits and pieces of stories, jokes and funny moments with my besties! So...let's just have a look at the beauty!

The entire My Favorite Things Collection is made up of glitter jellies that all have the same great formula. Full on glitter bombs that are smooth and opaque in two coats! No issues at all with formula or application. Glitters are suspended perfectly in the base, come out of the bottle easily and spread evenly on the nail. Blingtastic!

This time we have British Chocs and The Search Tempest.

GOT Polish Challenge: Golden Oldie Thursday with Chanel and Zoya

Nothing to Disclose

I have a serious problem in that I am always looking for that NEW polish fix when I have so many lovely polishes languishing in the drawer...polish I love enough to save them from purges or the donation box. And yet I don't wear them!

So when Debbie over at The Crumpet put together the GOT Polish Challenge, I was all for it! GOT stands for Golden Oldie Thursday - we pull out a polish that's a year old or older that we haven't worn - ever, or in at least a year. This Thursday is ORANGE so I've pulled out Zoya Myrta and Chanel Holiday.

This one was, of course, inspired by Bones. This is a bright orange glass fleck shimmer polish. Formula and application were great. No issues to report at all. I used 3 light coats and no top coat for the photos.

I reviewed Giggity Giggity Goo and Bird is the Word here. I'll have the others over the next few days.

Thrifty Thursday! Starring ULTA Professional Roaring to Go

Nothing to Disclose
*This product is Cruelty Free

Thrifty Thursday tonight brings you a great Autumn color: Ulta Professional Roaring to Go. It's a great red-based Autumnal orange creme. Two coats and no top coat for the photos. No issues at all.

Reminds me a little of OPI Chopsticking to My Story, which was one of my favorite OPI polishes.

Ulta Professional polishes usually retail for $6 - $7.50 but they are frequently on sale for 2 for $6, so I think that qualifies for "thrifty." These, of course, are available at Ulta storea nationwide and at Ulta.com.

Illamasqua Boudicca - Swatches and Review

Nothing to Disclose
*This product is Cruelty Free

Illamasqua Boudicca

Recently, while sleep-surfing (what? yes I AM going to blame it on middle-of-the-night grogginess) I ran across an Illamasqua polish I'd never seen - a Bloomingdale's Exclusive. Not sure if it will remain exclusive to Bloomies or not, but right now I think that's the only place to get it.

It's an intense red orange polish with micro-flakes! When I checked for swatches I didn't find much and what I did find made me think it might be a textured polish - difficult to work with. WRONG! I almost didn't order it! The micro-flakes appear to be pink or maybe color-shifting from pink to orange?

The photos are really quick - ONE COAT with NO top coat. The formula was smooth and easy, intensely pigmented and positively glowing. No issues to report at all.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What do you think? Did you order yet? If not, I'm recommending this one outright. I can't wait to see what it does with a top coat!

Some Illamasqua polishes are available here in the states at Sephora but this one is a Bloomingdale's exclusive, at least for now.

I really hadn't planned on blogging this one so please excuse my lack of clean up.

What do you think?

Twinks liked it I think! ♥

I was thrilled with both the formula and the color. It's really striking against pale skin and I got several compliments on it. It's so bold!

Barry M is widely available in the UK, and in the US, it's available at Ninja Polish.

Dandy Nails Sticky Sweet

Press Sample
*This product is Cruelty Free

Today I have another polish from Dandy Nails' newest release, Sticky Sweet. If you missed it, you can see the Betrayed Desires post here.

Sticky Sweet is an orange/creamsicle polish packed with multicolored glitters including orange, yellow, red and blue. And the peach shimmer! This was my "sleeper" polish of the collection - the one I really thought I would like least and once I had it on, I LOVED IT! The mix of colors in this one is genius. Formula and application were great and I used 2 coats and one coat of Poshe top coat for the photos.

butter LONDON Jaffa - Swatches and Review

Personal Collection
*This product is Cruelty Free

Good morning! Today I have butter LONDON Jaffa for you.

Jaffa is a bright medium orange to red-orange crelly. (There are a couple of meanings for "jaffa" but I'll let you google those on your own. <grin>) The formula on this was good. I used 3 light coats for the photos and no top coat. Because it's a crelly, it did need that third coat and I still had just a touch of VNL (visible nail line) but I suspect on short nails, 2 coats would suffice.

What do you think of this one? It really is a bright, beautiful, saturated color that is great for summer.

butter LONDON polishes are available at butterlondon.com and selected retail stores like ULTA (and most recently, Dillard's Department Stores) and they retail for $15.00 for .4 ounces. To stay up-to-date on special deals and offers, you can "like" them on Facebook here. Jaffa is just one of the over 100 colors they offer, in addition to various indulgences for your hands and feet...and even your lips. The nail lacquers are 3-free and butter LONDON is a Cruelty-Free company. That's a major plus for me.

NailNation 3000 Awesome Sauce

It's FRIDAY! This morning I have NailNation 3000's Awesome Sauce to show you.

Awesome Sauce is, well...AWESOME! It's a bright orange linear holo and shifts to look coral in certain lighting. The formula and application were great and I have no issues to report. I used two light coats and no top coat for the photos.

Literary Lacquers - Zipless

I'm back with another Literary Lacquer polish from their The Good Parts Collection - Zipless!

Here's what the creator had to say about Zipless:

This polish was inspired by Fear of Flying by Erica Jong published in 1973. Zipless is inspired by the narrator’s search for what she calls a “Zipless F--k” -  sex with no attachments and no downside. Ironically, when the narrator finally finds an opportunity for no strings attached sex, she isn't interested and only wants to go back to her husband.

Zipless is a warm-leaning red jelly with matte red glitter and tons of holographic gold glitter. The jelly base is highly pigmented and it can be worn alone at 3 coats.

Wow I bet THAT was a scandalous book back in the 70s!

I used 3 coats of this one alone with one coat of Poshe top coat for the photos. No issues with formula. All the glitters came out nicely and spread evenly, lying perfectly flat.
