Tonic Studios | Embossing powders card

A simple card made with Nuvo embossing powders.

I masked the card with washi tape and then applied the embossing pad directly to the card. Every time masking the rest with a piece of paper.

The die cut flower and brad also are covered with embossing powder.

It's been a while...

A few months, more than a few actually. You know, I make all those plans of being a blogger and then I get busy with real life and put blogging aside. I won't promise I will be blogging more this year. But we will see!
For more regular updates, you can follow me on Social Media: Facebook | Instagram | Pinterest | Twitter | Youtube

For now, I wanted to share some of my favourite projects and highlights from last year.

I guess at the top of the list it has to be my third book, Paper Pom Poms!

It was a challenge, as a book always is, but I was so very pleased with it! I loved the process of working with my published Carlton Books and working with the superb stylist Isabel de Cordoba.

Working with Tonic Studios is brilliant. I love their products and the team.

There are have been some changes recently, but I hope to keep inspiring everyone with the projects

Simplicity itself, but still one of my favourites using a a branch die from the Autumn Leaves collection.

The embellishing mousses from Tonic and their Nuvo Drops are part of my day to day crafting. Love them!

And the flower dies were awesome to create simple, traditional flowers.

And then there were the Glimmer Pastes... never thought I would love working with glitter so much. Absolutely love the stuff.

And while I very rarely use purple, this mosaic technique is one of my favourites and love the results! I used a thin width of washi tape to create those areas.

Another highlight, was teaching at the Surrey All Counties Challenge retreat organised by Johns Bloodsworth in aid of the Mind. Where I taught how to make pom pom, flowers and a mosaic card.

We had a blast in the all day workshops.

And with my fellow tutors and great friends. Leonie Pujol, myself, Jenny Mayes (Hobby Art stamps), John Bloodworth and Julie Hickey.

Another highlight was an amazing solo road trip to Edinburgh and back in August. Driving up East - Lincoln, Hull, Scarborough, York Moors, Durham, Bamburg Castle, Dunbar... - and driving down west - Gretna Green, Carlisle, Keswick, Lake District, Kendal, Lancaster, Blackpool... Britain is such an amazing ad beautiful country. Loved it!

And then there was Create and Craft USA that kept me so busy for so many months...
Unfortunately the year ended with the closure of the Create and Craft USA studios in Feltham, so that means that we had to say bye to some awesome colleagues.

The amazing hosts: Jinger Adams, Andy Hodgson, Kristine Mckey, Alex Hayden, Paul Becque, Mark Stewart, Aly Bockler, Libby Lloyd and Jane Monzures. Going to miss working with them!

We had awesome times, like when we had to evacuate the building two Saturday's in a row (both times when I was on air or about to go on air). Once due to a water leak the other a fire alarm.

We had brilliant times with these people, made new friends and I am just a bit sad that I wont get to work anymore with many of them. But here is hoping that our paths will soon cross with most of them!

And 2017 already looks like its going to be good... if a little busy with many projects.
