Sound Delivery Talks of Album Debut And Spreading the Word of Music and Themselves!

Alternative metal rockers SOUND DELIVERY have released an array of music videos, singles, and even a debut album! Some new songs are in the works, with a set release of this year sometime. Some shows played so far, with a whole lot more to hopefully happen eventually. The band talks with us about their formation, inspiration of creating music, the writing process, and what the future holds.

1. Please tell us about the history of your band and its members.

Sound Delivery was formed without the members knowledge sometime in June 2023 after Jack L. Stroem (Vocals & Guitar) reached out to Johan (Drums) & Waldemar Skoglund (Bass). Johan & Waldemar have known each other their whole lives and played countless hours together, some of those hours along with Jack in previous bands. All members have toured and played together with big acts (Sabaton, Hammerfall, Status Quo, Sonata Arctica to name a few) before Sound Delivery came to be. After a few jams they had accumulated enough material for an EP and went to a studio to record it, however during the recording of the EP 4 new songs were spawned and the EP evolved into an LP during the 3 day recording session to everyone's joy!

2. What’s the origin of the band’s name?

Everyone in the band wanted a simple and cool name that would not get autocorrected or misspelled easily. Sound Delivery also has a fun meaning in the literal “delivery of music/noise” which as a rock band we definitely deliver on!

3. Where is the band based out of and what is your music scene like there? Are there any local bands you could recommend?

When people ask us where we are from we usually say Gothenburg, but the truth is that all of Sound Delivery is from Alingsås, a smaller city about 30 minutes from Gothenburg. There is a livescene there albeit small and mainly people playing 12 bar blues under different band-names and some progmetal bands, we have played together with Ended from alingsås who we really like. Johans previous band Mantello was also a top act and there is Andreas Carlsson & the Moonshine Band if you are into country music!

4. How would you describe your style?

We try to be as genuine as possible in Sound Delivery, we are a trio and want to use that to our advantage both live and in the studio. But we would put our music as some sort of missing link within the Deep Purple/Rainbow/Black Sabbath family tree with a lot of our own quirky weirdness sprinkled in.

5. What have you released so far and what can someone expect from your works?

2024 saw the release of 3 music videos, 4 singles and our debut album. All energetic fun showing the framework of what you can expect in the future from Sound Delivery.

6. Do you have any new music in the works?

We have some songs in the pipeline and can promise more new music 2025, we will try the more modern way of releasing singles more frequently to please the overlords of streaming. We are all a little old school with releasing albums and physical media despite our relatively young age, so we will try some new exciting things this year.

7. How about playing shows and touring, have anything planned out?

We formed Sound Delivery with the intention of it being a power house live act. We have only had the chance to do 2 shows last year, but this year we will go into a higher gear and really rock out. The goal is to have so much fun on stage that everyone in the room will feel the positive energy and create pure bliss.

8. What plans do you have for the future as a band?

Right now we are on the second phase of promoting our debut album and to spread the word, after that we will start rehearsing and record some new music that will possibly see the light of day around spring.

9. Where can we listen to your band and where can we buy your stuff?

We are on all the usual social medias (not TikTok as of yet, we are too old for that!) and all the music and merch is available to be bought physically at jacklstroem.bandcamp.com.

10. What is it you’d like a listener to remember the most when hearing your music for the first time?

We in Sound Delivery hope you find your own purpose in the music we play, the lyrics are left with an intentional room for interpretation so you can make of it what you want. Know also that the music will be a different beast live as we do rearrange some songs quite massively to keep ourselves entertained with our short attention spans and because we want to give something special every night. We would also love for all musicians out there to remember that recording music live together is still very much doable and in fact much easier now than ever before. Dare to record without a click and just feel the music
