Sweet Sixteen card with Happy Day
These cards are for my daughter's Birthday dinner invitations. She is inviting several girls to dinner on Saturday at a one of her favorite fondue restaurants. It is her 16th birthday - she's the last of her friends to turn 16 and was so ready for this milestone! ;) When she asked me to make her birthday invitations last week - I thought yay! She said she had something specific in mind. Then said 'Purple. Girly." ha - then she kept talking and we played with some stamps and cardstock and started going in this direction instead. She loves this card and said it's just perfect. (Double Yay!) I wanted to add a small '16' to the lower right corner, but she said the sentiment (sweet sweet moments) was enough of a hint that it's her 16th birthday and nixed that idea.
She helped me with all the Heat and Big Shot embossing on these cards. The gold embossed buttons were one of her favorite touches. We pressed the large Acrylic Buttons into the Gold Encore ink pad and then used a clothes pin to hold them while she dipped them in Gold Embossing Powder and then used the Heat Gun to melt the embossing powder. We didn't have any trouble with the buttons warping or melting.Another of her requested elements was the Victorian Lace ribbon and with the Coastal Cabana Ruffled Trim tied with it, I was very happy with the 'girly' factor on her cards.
