My project this week has been to update and revamp my website, to make Lunagirl.com more streamlined and as user-friendly as I can. I'm liking the results ~ looking good with larger images, and much easier to browse.
I now have a list of all collage sheet categories that stays on the left sidebar while you're browsing ~ a big help, because there are SO many!
Featuring some new collage sheets, as well as Independence Day/Patriotic collage sheets, Summertime, and hundreds of images in the theme Flowers Nature and Woodland.
Anyway, I hope you will check it out! ... Have a great weekend. Have fun, stay safe, and take some time to remember what Memorial Day is really about.
My challenge blog for Lunagirl Vintage Images, featuring fun creative challenges with prizes, projects, freebies, holiday and seasonal info, and more!
A place for mixed media artists, card makers, scrapbooking enthusiasts, fabric artists, creators of jewelry, altered art and crafts of all kinds.

March Challenge: Spring Flowers & Birds
Welcome to my March challenge!
The first daffodil is about to bloom outside my front door, and there have been hints of springtime in the last few days, so this theme is just in time: Spring Flowers & Birds.
I couldn't resist using one of the images from my new "Garden Catalogues" collage sheet ~ adding some birds and changing the text of course. I think those are hollyhocks, which are probably summer flowers (and wonderfully old-fashioned) but I also added some yellow daffodils, which are definitely the messengers of early Spring!
I hope you have fun with this theme. It makes me smile.

Free Bird Drawings!
I've actually shared these lovely bird drawings before, a couple years ago, but I thought I would post them again for the Put A Bird On It challenge.
There are plenty of beautiful birds here (the names are listed for you too), and I hope you will have fun using them for my challenge this week.

Creative Challenge Theme: Put a BIRD On It!
My theme this time is "Put a Bird On It." You KNOW that everything is cuter and prettier when you add one of our feathered friends...
so create a card, an ATC, some digital art, an altered book or tin, a scrapbooking layout, some fabric art, a assemblage or altar or some fabulous jewelry, anything mixed media, creative, and preferably (although not necessarily) vintage, and then ... put a bird on it! And enter our challenge.
You'll find plenty of vintage birds at Lunagirl!
<<< I created my challenge badge at left with a "briars" frame from my Vintage Style Blank Labels collection, in green version, a lady from my Victorian Edwardian Vintage Ladies Photos CD Vol 1, which I tinted with autumn colors, and assorted birds!
Below are the challenge guidelines and some samples by the Moonbeams Design Team (don't miss them!)
I love it you use Lunagirl images, and I hope you'll go take a look at my collections... but that's not a requirement! But do remember that if you use a Lunagirl image, you will be entered TWICE in the drawing! I welcome everyone and every style but also want to give a little something extra to my wonderful customers! Most important is have fun, get creative, enjoy vintage.

New Collage Sheet: Forest Fairy Wings
I like to announce new items on the blog, and I'm afraid I've been a little neglectful of that lately. So here is a new digital collage sheet I've created featuring some pretty fairy wings for spring and summer fairy-watching in the garden.
Some of you may have my "Wings for Wind and Water Fairies" which are mostly in shades of blue, cool green, and pink. They are lovely and ethereal, like dragonfly wings, in various sizes. The new design is called "Wings for Forest Fairies" and offers shades in "woodland" colors such as deeper greens and soft sepia browns/orange. (No watermarks on the actual item, of course!)
I created these wings "from scratch" (rather than altering vintage pictures) so I'm especially proud to offer them to you and I hope you can have some fun with them! More new products coming soon, I hope ~ so many ideas, so little time!

Can you believe it's October? It is hard for me to fathom. It seems like Summer was just here; where did she go? Here are some beautiful illustrations appropriate for October, for you to use in your projects:
Lovely, detailed art of fall apples from a Victorian botanical print,
and this charming little barn owl, also from an antique nature print.

Blue Jays
I can feel summer loosening its grip as the wheel turns toward autumn. The predicted high today is "only" 86! This morning I heard bluejays, who come every year in search of acorns and bring September with them. The sounds of an early September morning in the South ~ the drowsy whir of the summer locusts, rising and falling like waves (if you're from the South, you know them) and the squawks of the first bluejays.
The original of this print shows the bluejays breaking and eating the eggs of some other bird (!) but I've altered them to a more "peaceful" scene (are bluejays ever really peaceful?) I love the orange "crossvine" flowers as well ~ we have them growing on our backyard fence. Enjoy the last few days of Summer. ~ Karen
