And here is another new digital collage sheet featuring wings!
This one is Gothic Fairy Wings ~ altered butterfly wings, dragonfly wings, and even bat wings, in suitably "gothic" feeling shades of green, purple, red, and of course black and grey...

September Challenge Theme: FAIRIES & MERMAIDS
The theme for my September challenge is a favorite on mine (and yours I hope): Fairies and Mermaids. We've done a Fairyland theme before, but this time let's include Mermaids as well.
Don't miss the Design Team inspiration below, and have a look at some Lunagirl digital collage sheets to get you started! Fairies.... and Mermaids! The DT is working with some images of Faerie Fantasy Showgirls (for something a little different), Faerie Queens, and of course vintage Mermaids.
I can't wait to see what you create ~ link up your entries below.
CHALLENGE GUIDELINES:
I love it when you use Lunagirl images, and I hope you'll go take a look at my collections... but that's not a requirement! But do remember that if you use a Lunagirl image, you will be entered TWICE in the drawing! I welcome everyone and every style but also want to give a little something extra to my wonderful customers! Most important is have fun, get creative, and enjoy vintage style.

New Digital Collage Full of Fairies!
I thought this one turned out really pretty! I call it "In the Fairy Garden." Here in the fairy garden you'll find Victorian flower fairies, of course, and little garden angels, little girls with painted wings and flowers in their hair, a little garden gnome carrying a bouquet... and a girl in blue peeks around the fence to see what is going on. I've included a gorgeous vintage floral frame, and inside that a picture of children, fairies, and robins having a tea party in a bird's nest! I had lots of fun with this one, and I hope you will too. Visit Lunagirl's fairy and angel garden.

Steampunk Spirit
It's the second Monday of the Steampunk Girls blog challenge, and that means another bit of inspiration from the Moonbeams Design Team. Michele Storms has created this stunning collaged image that is truly in the steampunk spirit:
"because jules verne is the father of steampunk i started this creation by going online to find a good photo of him and also an original book cover from one of his books. the cover i used here is “voyages extraordinaire” or “extraordinary voyage.” this steampunk girl is truly ready for adventure! she has her luggage and her compass and she herself is dressed to kill. the hand and eye of fate in the corner above her suggest an element of danger but her patron saint jules verne is right behind her luggage. what could go wrong?

the steampunk girl and the luggage are from the lunagirl “steampunkgirls” collage sheet. the jules verne
photo and the book cover image are from the internet. the eye, hand of fate and compass are from dover
publications and the background script paper is 7 gypsies."

Little Fairy Shine So Bright by Michele
Little garden fairies keep turning up in my inbox! So sweet of them to show themselves for you to see.
They seem to like buttons, and of course flowers. This one has beautiful pink feathered wings and a flower crown. She looks so pretty against that swirly feathery background.
Such a beautiful card, Michele. Thank you! (See Michele's Blog)

Lunagirl Blog Challenge #4: Garden Fairies
Congrats again to the winner of the Bathing Beauty challenge: Entry #16 Anne!
It's time to start submitting your entries for the next Lunagirl Moonbeams Blog Challenge: Garden Fairies!
I hope you'll have fun with this theme ... I have all kinds of images that would work ... butterfly wings and dragonfly wings, little girls and boys, faerie folk, all kinds of flowers and even floral backgrounds! The Lunagirl Moonbeams Design Team has created some wonderful garden fairies as you will see...
This challenge (#4) will end at 11:55 pm on June 30 ~ The winner will be selected randomly (random number generator) and will receive a free Lunagirl digital collage sheet of his or her choice.
UPDATE: I've decided if I get 20 entries for this challenge, I'll draw TWO winners!
Be creative but stick to the theme (obviously) :)
Any craft or medium is OK,
No more than 3 entries from one person in each challenge, and
Please link back to my blog and/or Lunagirl.com on your site if you have one.
It's preferable that your entry be a new piece created for the challenge, but I'm not going to worry about that... Of course I love if you use at least one Lunagirl product, but that's not a requirement!
Most important is have fun, get creative, enjoy vintage.
The Lunagirl Moonbeams Design Team -- Vicki, Michele, and Petra -- have captured some charming little garden fairies for their creations below. I'm sure all will be freed promptly, but first they have agreed to pose here for your inspiration! Create your own little garden fairy project and enter the Blog Challenge!
Petra Berendsen created this very lovely tag:
"For this project I first created the tag with patterned paper, the edges are slightly distressed. The tag is mounted on stencilled background paper. The lovely garden fairy comes from the Fly Away Home collage sheet. I used the pretty fairy in the red dress and one of the butterfly wings totally amazing in their colour. The project was completed with some ribbon, a stamped sentiment and some fabric flowers."
Aren't the soft colors and stencilled patterns perfect on this tag? I love the musical page in the background.
Michele Storms created these two gorgeous cards!
The backgrounds are so pretty, and I like the 3-dimensional elements in the second card.
The wings are from Lunagirl Fly Away Home collage sheet and Rainbow Wings I collage sheet, while the figures/photos are from Lunagirl Little Girls collage sheet.
What a little sweetie pie on this card by Vicki Romaine! This charmer is from Girls 1929, with wings from Fly Away Home. She looks right at home in Vicki's bright garden background. Doesn't she make you believe in fairies?
Please be sure to visit the design team members' blogs as well!
And of course follow Lunagirl Moonbeams to see more garden fairies and to share your own in the challenge!

New Collage Sheet: Paris 1920s Fantasy Showgirls
I love creating collage sheets ~ it's so easy to get inspired. Here is the latest, just posted a few days ago, created with French postcards from the Casino de Paris featuring flapper showgirls in some pretty wild costumes (and a little nudity -- warning/blush)! The actual digital collage sheet is designed to print as a full-size sheet, 8.5x11" when printed at 300 dpi (can be resized before printing as needed!) Get it here.

New collage sheet designs! Witch's Labels for potions and powders and more
Oh, these were such fun to create! Starting with some of our own blank labels (which were originally Victorian and Art Deco ephemera), and adding old photos and text and colors and textures, I've created some labels just right for this time of year -- or for a witch's apothecary at any time of year ; ) Labels for mermaid tears, lover's sighs, moonbeams, powdered cobwebs, freeze-dried bat wings, Egyptian sleeping potion, belladonna, ashes of old lovers, and more spooky magical stuff. These will be about 4 inches tall when printed at full size, but you can of course print them as small as you need with excellent results... Currently available only in our etsy shop -- the sepia versions by request!

The Faerie Queen

The Victorians were fascinated with fairies, and often portrayed the fairy world as dark and mysterious, not just cute and light as we think of it now.
You'll love these beautiful sensual faerie queens of the night! This digital collage sheet is available for purchase and instant download at Lunagirl.com.
More new collage sheets in the works.....

Quotes for the Day: Einstein on Fairy Tales & Imagination!

“Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere.”
"If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairy tales. If you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairy tales." :-)
"When I examine myself and my methods of thought, I come to the conclusion that the gift of fantasy has meant more to me than any talent for abstract, positive thinking."
“There are two ways to live: you can live as if nothing is a miracle; you can live as if everything is a miracle.”
