Just a few more Bees...
I thought I would sneak in one more "Bee" creation from the Design Team.
You still have a couple of hours to get yours in "under the wire" and maybe win the drawing for $15 credit at Lunagirl.com.
Here is a beautiful little fairyland tag by Mandy Chilvers, with honeybees buzzing about a romantic little faerie scene.
I love all the layering of print on the background and the little leaves. And the ribbons are just perfect.
If you have missed Mandy's work in the DT samples (as I have) ~ she has been plagued by the computer gremlins but (fingers crossed) she is back!
The BEE challenge ends at noon today, in a couple of hours, and later today I'll announce a winner of the prize drawing.
Join us bright and early tomorrow for the next challenge ~ the new theme will be RED...

Bees and a Diva on Blue... from the Design Team
Michele Storms created these two beautiful tags... absolutely gorgeous, don't you agree?
The one on the left features images from my Honey bee digital collage sheets (including the "Bee Hive Clothing House" tag image) and a lady from French Postcards. If I were her I would be a little scared of that bee in my undies! On the right is a beautiful Blue themed tag featuring some Lunagirl images as well. I think that actually go together... united by the butterflies and vintage feel. I love Michele's tags.
To the right here is a notecard and tag set created by Corinne Marie. I shared the main "honey bee" card before, but I wanted to show the whole set as well as it is so lovely. I especially like the multiple layers of the tag.
Great work, ladies, thank you!
Don't miss more bees buzzing about in the gallery for this challenge, and don't forget you have until Thursday to enter your own for a chance to win!

Honeybee Challenge Theme: Second Week
MICHELE STORMS |
My bee magic must be working because it's still warm here, and actually feels like Spring today. The birds are happy. I haven't seen any bees, although there was a fly in the house yesterday... guess that isn't a very pleasant "sign of Spring"! Yes, I know I'm in for a very rude awakening when Old Man Winter returns, as he is bound to do since it's still only January. But a girl can dream, can't she?
Check out the entries so far and get busy creating, honey!

Early American Gardens Blog: Antique Beehive Pics
I just found a wonderful blog called American Garden History, and the first link below is all about beehives! It has 20 lovely pictures along with some fascinating info for history buffs like me. I'm also linking their post with over 30 really cool medieval "bee art" illustrations. There are several with bears that are really cute.
These are a "must see" as inspiration for the Honeybee challenge! All antique images... Enjoy...
This blog is amazing, btw, with tons of info and pictures about early gardens and gardening, flowers fruit trees and vegetables, viniculture, etc. I can tell I'll be visiting again.

Happy Moon-day! Join the Honeybee Challenge
This pretty bee from Corinne Marie reminds you to enter my "Honeybee" challenge, for fun, sharing, maybe a prize! :-)
The sun is out here in Tennessee today, and the birds are singing and acting excited (on my walk to the mailbox, a mockingbird flew out of a holly bush and fussed at me, as if maybe she was starting a nest). Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself wishing for an early Spring ~ we'll see what the groundhog says in a few days. But if the birds are out, maybe the honeybees aren't far behind...

Creative Challenge: HONEYBEE
Time for a new challenge theme! This time let's do BEES. Honeybees and bumblebees are popular motifs in vintage ephemera, especially French ephemera, labels, linens, and advertising. They often show up in the "shabby elegant" and cottage chic style. And they are so sweet for cards and tags.
Why am I doing a "Bee" theme in the winter? Maybe it's because I'm already dreaming of spring, and I know when the honeybees show up warm weather can't be far behind.
You probably know bees are our friends, and we would be hard-pressed to survive without them. They busily pollinate not only our flowers, but all flowering plants which includes most of the fruits and vegetables we eat! Bee trivia: Did you know honey was once considered a gift of the gods (goddess, actually) and was also used as an offering TO the gods in ancient times? Did you know Deborah means honeybee, and Melissa means honey?
Anyway... enough of my nerdy trivia... let's have some fun with a Honeybee theme (bumblebees welcome too!) Don't miss the samples by the Lunagirl Moonbeams Design Team to inspire you, and to get you started I have two new digital collage sheets featuring bees!
Here are the guidelines:
Any craft or medium is OK.
Vintage style is encouraged.
Use a Lunagirl image or element and your entry will count twice in the drawing!
Remember to link to this blog and to Lunagirl.com on your site if you have one.
Prize: Winner will be selected randomly to receive a $15 credit at Lunagirl.com!
Challenge ends at noon CST on Thursday, February 5.
I love it when you use Lunagirl images, and I hope you'll go take a look at my collections... but that's not a requirement! But do remember that if you use a Lunagirl image, you will be entered TWICE in the drawing! I welcome everyone and every style but also want to give a little something extra to my wonderful customers! Most important is have fun, get creative, enjoy vintage.
