Abhishek Bachchan in Kuwait for Omega

Huge event with hundreds of people trying to catch a glimpse of Abhishek Bachchan.
Red carpet all the way

Peaceful time before the arrival
Paparazzi lined up
Some of their watches and gold that remind me of the Cartier collection

Of course it never fails that someone from these several 'Kuwait' pages on FB takes my posts and doesn't give me credit, this time my IG post.
And the other page using my post
Besides the stampede and constant pushing it was a nice event.

Shopping Exhibit Mishref Hall 8

There's a shopping exhibit in Hall 8 with loads of things to buy.

I bought some name brand perfume for cheap at this booth, they may be "samples" with no box but they spray and smell the same.

Ayadi Q8ya Expo Mishref Hall 7

We had a great time today exploring the halls in Mishref Fairgrounds, a couple exhibitions are going on now.

Tomorrow is the last day, they are open from 4-10 but it's better to go after 5 pm as most booths are open. I went there to visit the "Help Kidz" booth as they are now supporting the illegitimate baby unit or "Ward 10" in Sabah Hospital and are taking donations, you can follow them on Instagram @HELPKIDZQ8

Al-Qurain Festival 2014

‘Al-Qurain Festival conveys to the world Kuwait’s cultural message’ Festival hosts gallery of Spanish formative arts

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 8, (KUNA): Minister of Information Sheikh Salman Al-Sabah said Tuesday Al- Qurain Cultural Festival would convey Kuwait’s “noble” cultural message to the Arab and international arenas. The 20th Al-Qurain Cultural Festival will bring together culture, literature and art, which is “in compliance with instructions of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al- Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to promote creativity, literature and arts,” Sheikh Salman, also Minister of State for Youth Affairs, said in a speech at the opening of the festival. The festival, he added, would feature contributions of Arab intellectuals, artists, journalists and critics to further promote pan-Arab culture.
He said Al-Qurain Cultural Festival has become a “glowing mark in the cultural and artistic map of Kuwait” since it was launched in November 1994. Culture, added Sheikh Salman, is among the government’s priorities because the state believed that culture was the catalyst of development and a major component of social justice and dialogue among civilizations. Sheikh Salman, meanwhile, opened the Contemporary Art House, also known as “Bait Al-Bader.” The National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) renovated Bait Al- Bader and transformed it into an exhibition center.

The Contemporary Art House aims at preserving the identity of Kuwait music and spreading Kuwait’s culture. Assistant Secretary General of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) for Cultural Affairs Bader Al-Duwaish inaugurated Wednesday a gallery for the Spanish formative artist Marisa Torreon at the NCCAL’s Ahmad Al-Adwani Hall. The gallery comprises a collection of impressive paintings which focus on the Spanish heritage, arts and natural habitat. The event is part of the diverse activities of the 20th Qurain Cultural Festival which was launched Tuesday. The Qurain Cultural Festival is Kuwait is a leading arts festival that is sponsored by the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters, Kuwait and its self-proclaimed purpose is to enhance the artistic and cultural movement in Kuwait. It includes theatre performances, literary events, the exhibitions of the visual arts and other cultural events. Every year the culture varies in events, the personalities it showcases and it’s theme.

I got one of the flyers while getting gas in Fintas the other day, too bad it was all in Arabic. I had a co-worker translate it for me and you can find a list of events in Arabic/English by clicking the "Al-Qurain Festival" tab on top of the page.

Road Rush Carnival Kuwait 2013

What happens when you mix Barbie and go-karts? Road Rush Kuwait 2013, held in Shuwaikh at the Sirbb Circuit which was a pretty cool event. I was the only foreign woman there as 99% were young, high-spirited Kuwaiti females ready to race. Most of the females were decked out in leggings and platform sneakers with their Chanel bags holding their racing gear. I didn't know you had to have your own teams of 5 or more and sign up the day before in order to race the karts, it didn't say that on the many advertisements I've seen. Bummer!

I had to sit and watch as they went round and round, some crashing into the barriers and some spinning out. We spent a couple of hours there but had to leave because ya know, we have jobs and couldn't stay until 10 pm. The venue was awesome, it reminded me of the tracks in California but there you had a choice of three different types of go-karts. The place is gorgeous and the patio area will be awesome to watch the races. I'm not sure when the circuit opens for the public, they are still building and fixing stuff but I can't wait!!!!!

We kind of felt out of place, it was a public event but most of the girls knew each other and were so young. I wouldn't mind joining their group but I think I'm too much of an outsider. Next time when they advertise I would hope they put more directions for females who want to race instead of it feeling like a high school click.

I hope they have a day only for women like they do at the water parks that way females can have fun without worrying about some douche running into them and harassing them.

Costa Fortuna Cruise

Want to do something different for your next holiday? Check out this cruise from Costa Fortuna, a friend of mine and his wife took a 3-day cruise back in June and he told me they had a great time. I've seen the big ship at the port in Khasab, Oman when I visited there a few years ago. That was the first time I ever saw a cruise ship close up.

Has anyone taken this trip?
