Verve sketch challenge and a Recipe class

Wow, I was on a posting spree at the beginning of the week and then I kind of petered out quick, huh? Sorry about that! I've been busy preparing for an upcoming class (later in this post), a get-together with my downline, and getting another hostess club started...wanna join?! :)
Anyway, I wrapped up all of those commitments and wanted to play. A brilliant opportunity appeared in the latest Verve stamp sets release challenge. Have I said before how much I love those Verve stamps?! Anyway, I actually combined this with another challenge over at Our Creative Corner to create a project using a doodle. See the little doodling I did on my flowers? That's about as doodle as I get, LOL! I think the designer paper also has some doodling to it to though. *wink*

All Supplies Stampin' Up!
Stamps: A Good Egg Ink: Basic Black, So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie Paper: Kraft, Delicate Dots dsp, Bashful Blue, So Saffron Accessories: Flower Layers Sizzix die, Soft Subtles brads, 1/4" circle punch, dazzling diamonds, crystal effects, white gel pen, Eyelet punch

And now for my other project I've been working on...a Recipe card class.

I purchased this AWESOME stand from Taylored Expressions, painted it white and embellished it with items from the Sweet Nothings Simply Scrappin' kit. The entire project uses the "From the Kitchen of" stamp set, Sweet Nothings Simply Scrappin' kit, 6x6 page protectors, and the stand. I added the flowers from the Pretties kit and Flower Fusion just for fun. I really love the way this turned out! You can write the recipe on the front, and back if need be! You can also take a picture of what the recipe is for and attach it too the back. Interested in having this class mailed to you? Let me know and I'll see what I can come up with! :)

Thanks so much for stopping in....and getting "in stamping mode!" :)

A Valentine's class and some tips

Just when you thought I was giving you a break from stamping...I'm baaaaack! If you so choose to accept this mission, you will create two beautifully hand-made Valentine's cards, a perfectly petite love-note, a tin full of chocolates...mmmm, and a cleverly created pull-up box of Conversation hearts! Fee for the class is a mere $15!! I will offer this class on two dates, so please join me on Sunday, January 18th at 2 PM OR Thursday, January 29th at 6 PM. Want it all for yourself AND The class for only $5??? Pre-order your Love You Much bundle <-----check out this post for more details, NOW and the stamp set, papers, and punch will be yours to take home!! This kit is currently discounted at 20% off, but only until January 31st! Get it now and you save! save! save! Discount on the bundle AND discount on the class...what a deal! Here are some close-ups of the projects for curiousity's sake. :)

Want to know how I masked out the "O" in the Love box above this text? It was so super simple! I simply punched out a 1" circle from the sticky end of a post-it note and stuck it over the "O" on my stamp. Since it covered a smidge too much, I merely took scissors and trimmed the excess. Easy peasy! Here's a picture for you visual folk. (Please hold your gasps at my dirty "Love" stamp until the end of the post!)

And finally...you know the little pull treat box above? It's really a neat concept and I modified Beate's tutorial over on Splitcoast... a pull treat...or something like that! Anyway, I cut a piece of Riding Hood Red cardstock to 4 x 7 1/4" and scored along the 7 1/4" side at 3/4", 3 1/4", 4", and 6 1/2" This box is so cool! You just pull the ribbon up and the box slides right out!
I used my Scor-Pal to score this and you will notice there is no 3/4" mark to score at. I simply shift my cardstock over 1/4" and use the 1" mark as my 3/4" mark. Here's a visual with all the markings to confuse you! :)

WOW this was a long post! I had a lot to get out there. :) I hope you enjoyed the little tips and don't forget to sign up for the class!

Techniques Class tonight

The ladies came over early this evening and fun was had by all! At least, that's what they led me to believe. hehe They loved the projects and here is what they did.

Remember, you can always click on the image to get a better view! I've already posted two of the projects they did on that post below this one so I'll just post closer pictures of the remaining projects.

This one was cased from Diana Gibb's blog...I don't have the direct link but it's in there somewhere!

Oooh I wish you could see it in person...it's SOOO glittery! I think this one was a favorite after the Cracked Glass. This was the glitter window...emboss with heat and stick powder and then douse with dazzling diamonds. YUM!

This was stamping on tiles

Cute and simple! Stamped the image in Black Staz-on and then colored in with Stampin' Up! markers. Then sealed it with Patricia Nimlock acrylic sealant.

And finally the last was the box in a bag.

And now I'm spent and ready to crash! Can you hear that?? Hear that jiggling sound? That's the jello that are my legs. I went to a step class (haven't been to one in about a year or so) and I was blessed with squat and lunge a 2139084230984230 times today! I can barely get my rear on the toilet. :( Hopefully I'm not limping around too bad tomorrow.

Hope you have a good one and thanks for getting "in stamping mode!"

November club projects

Ahhh...I just love weekends! I'm starting to get sad that it's already almost over though. :( But check this out. Did you know there is only a little over 6 weeks left until Christmas?!?!? Holy crap does that statement really put things in perspective! I really need to get it in gear and really start planning what this year's Christmas cards will be. I want to incorporate a photo of the children so I better get on that like YESTERDAY!

Anywho, my monthly hostess clubs are meeting this coming Sunday and here are 2 of the 3 projects they will be making. You can see the other one here.

I've done this card before and more details on how it's made can be seen here. It's so cool! You use the small pennants from the SU Pennant die to make the criss-crosses. Here's another with the insert pulled out.

It would be so easy to just adhere a picture to that insert and be done...I'm really tempted to make these this years cards. :)

This card is their 3D item. It is a card that holds gift cards! I totally cased this from the Stamping Moments blog. She was nice enough to include directions on how to make it so be sure to stop by her site and give her a "holllaaaa." LOL! (That LOL is dedicated to my friend Anitra's, husband btw) :D
So when you open it up it has a middle compartment for the gift card as shown here

Just to get this out of the way now...gift card not included in the club!! And this is the other side of gift card.

See that large "Enjoy" circle stamp? Does it look familiar? Well, it may not because it's NOT in the catalog nor the mini-catalog. It is an exclusive set part of an EXCLUSIVE KIT!! I am SOOO excited about this kit, that I will be holding a Stamp Camp at my house dedicated to this project!! Now, I've been busy making all the projects, and here's a little teaser of what I've come up with.

See those little tags under the picture of my daughter? I made those to be little wine glass taggies!

If you are still with me...please join me at my home for the Holiday Stampin' Extravaganza!!
You'll want to block your calendar for Sunday, November 23rd beginning at 2 PM! The fee for the class is $60 and will include LOTS of Festive fun...including lots of snacks!
RSVP no later than November 14th!

More details to follow in a future posting. :)

Have a great rest of the weekend!

4th Annual Christmas Stamp a Stack

That's right...this is my fourth year doing it and it just gets better (and more FUN) every year! Once again, these layouts are all CASEd from either someone's blog and/or Splitcoast. I do know that the Season of Thanks card came from Jill! Please contact me or leave a comment if it is your card that I have CASEd! I certainly want to give credit where it is due! Chances are, you can look at any of the blogs listed on the right and find the original, LOL! Here are the cards!

When: Sunday, November 16th at 2 PM
Where: My house!
Fee: $20
RSVP: No later than November 11th

I also had a bit of time to try my hand at those cute little clear treat boxes and this is what I came up with.

Thanks for stopping by and most of all, thanks for all the very kind comments! I read every single one and appreciate them immensely! You truly make my day. :)

Have a great day!

First Xmas Stamp a Stack of the year!

*BIG DISCLAIMER* The following images are almost identical replicas to cards I have seen on my favorite blogs. These are "the chosen ones" and will be reproduced en masse at my upcoming Stamp a Stacks on Sunday and Thursday. I have not submitted these in a competition! I merely love the cards and don't like "reinventing the wheel," because simply, I just don't have the time! Thank you to these ladies for their beautiful work (click on their name to see original artwork):

Diana Gibbs
Kimberly Van Diepen
Lynn Put
Jenn Diercks
Jen Bamberg

Did I mention that I take zero, zilch, nada credit in creating these? Just want to make it clear! :)

So on Sunday afternoon and Thursday evening...IF you signed up for the class...we will be making these cards with matching envelopes.
Card 1:
Card 2
Card 3

Card 4

Card 5
It's going to be a smashing good time!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to have a "Sauls original"™ tomorrow evening.
