Transformers Arcee and Hot Rod Get Drunk and Sing
There are many ways to celebrate our beloved, geeky past. If you are like me, you hunt for toys which trigger a happy place in the brain when eyes meet plastic. Some rewatch cartoons regularly. Some decorate their entire house in "Disney's Gummy Bears" decor and collectibles and no one is the wiser...until the day they die and people come in and neighbors say "he was such a quiet man...who knew?" Fans of Transformers can celebrate year round so long as Hasbro keeps revisiting those classic robot designs (and, as of late, crank out reproductions of the G1 toys) and metal rockers The Cybertronic Spree keep making the world a more awesome place with their energon-fueled performances. You see, the Cybertronic Spree is what happens when your favorite giant robots stop waging war on each other, and start rocking out together. Today, we get to see what happens when you add alcohol to that equation...

Marching Toward Marvel's Infinity War Merchandise **UPDATED 3/3
In slightly over 2 MONTHS, we'll be sitting in theaters across the globe, jaws agape at the spectacle of an endless stream of Marvel Cinematic Universe heroes battling it out against the mad titan Thanos and his children for the very fate of humankind. You see, Thanos is in love with Death...and I don't mean that figuratively. He's in love with the entity we call Death, and will go to great extremes to win her favor, so grinding a little blue planet under his boot heel would not take a second thought. With a full array of Infinity Gems affixed to a gauntlet, allowing him to wield all of their unmeasurable power at once, our planet and all of it's appointed heroes may not stand a chance. But this is the Marvel Universe...so there is always hope.
Today we will take a look at the incredible array of merchandise coming for Avengers: Infinity War (now available for order at Entertainment Earth!), which have been slipping out of those boxes street dated for March 3rd. LET'S JUMP RIGHT IN!!

Bitches Get Stitches: On Sexy Cosplaying
Oh boy. This is quite the hot topic recently. "Sexy Cosplayers". Love us or hate us, we're here.
Let me back this up. If you don't know who I am, I'm a model, a burlesque performer, and a cosplayer. When I was growing up, I was a lanky, skinny, shapeless, bracefaced, and unibrowed kid. When other girls were getting pretty and shapely, learning how to do their hair and makeup.. I was playing video games and writing fanfiction about marrying Lance Bass (No, I'm not kidding. They were awful and cringey as all getout).

Retro-a-go-go Supersizing Your Halloween
For a lot of us, fond memories of simple plastic masks with a bit of elastic send us into fits of geeking with just a glance. These masks weren't perfect, and to be honest, most likenesses attempted of non-cartoony characters became the stuff of nightmares, only lending to their appeal. I've got an Adams Family movie Uncle Fester mask that at once delights adults and makes small children cry. Now Retro-A-Go-Go look to tap into that love by taking this simple format and punching it up to a nearly 2 foot size, suitable for sending would-be home invaders running for the hills.

New Line's IT Remake: Pennywise Revealed!
No matter what your thoughts are on the TV adaptation of Stephen King's IT, we all have pseudo fond memories of the movie as if it was a slice of our childhood. For some, it was! Now New Line Cinema hope to rekindle those childhood creeps and take it all one step further, creating a nightmare fueled amusement park ride the "safe for primetime" TV movie could never be. Today, we get our first full look at Bill Skarsgard as Pennywise the clown...and that image alone is enough to have people marking their calendars and counting down the days til this movie's release...

SDCC 2015: Cosplayers Charging For Photos Now
While running through the battlefield known as San Diego Comic-Con, the brave crew of 4 Idle Hands reporters see many odd things. Since they predominantly shoot collectibles and cosplayers, they are in the thick of it for the entire show with no leisurely breaks in air conditioned panels or prolonged stops at charging stations inside posh lounges where free food and drink are available. My crew are soldiers. This is WARCON!! While there is no way around the fight that is shooting tiny little action figures surrounded by mobs of fans, we usually don't have a bad time when photographing cosplayers, no matter how little our costumed friends get to move across the floor as they are assaulted with odd requests, inappropriate "jokes", the random grope and long, creepy, lingering looks into their boob windows. These are generally happy people who work hard on their costumes and enjoy showing them off. Sure, there are rude folks who hear your request plain as day, regard you and turn away as if you are not cool enough to capture their image, but that's life. Every group has jerks. What we didn't expect this year was a number of cosplayers trying to make some quick cash amid the Comic-Con frenzy.

SDCC 2015: Nicole's Adventures: Day 1
While Hailey is no stranger to San Diego Comic-Con, she's clearly been whipped into a nerd-frenzy this year! Wish all the insanity surrounding Star Wars and Batman V Superman, who could blame her! Now we get an alternate perspective from Nicole Marrokal, a photographer known to dress up and blend right in with the cosplayers around her. Nicole is not a regular writer, so we've got the highlights of her activities, in her own words...
Well let's see I fought and won with my new wig and this year I have a parking spot across the street from the convention center so I drove and that was interesting. I used my friend's parking spot. Her dog was the one who took a picture with Conan.

Still Recovering From The Steampunk World's Fair
I've done 4 days of New York Comic Con with added set up the day before and break down on Sunday, shooting something like 2 thousand pictures a day. I've done 5 days of San Diego Comic-Con with interviews at opposite ends of the massive convention center a half hour apart and parties into the night. I've done BEA, lugging home so many books the wheels on my suitcase fell apart half way through Penn Station, AnimeNext where my full eye black contacts tried to eat my head and Rock and Shock where your worst enemy is being talked into continually drinking til 5am...with a 9am wake up call. I have survived all of this...and yet 1 day at The Steampunk World's Fair has done me in. Either I'm getting old, or I'm finally doing this show correctly.

SDCC 2014: Day 2 Cosplay with Martians, World Eaters, Deadpools & Frozen People
The San Diego Comic-Con coverage rages on as we take a look at the awesome cosplayers in their awesome costumes on Friday...day 2 of the massive convention. As I slide through our photographer's images, it's like a game of bingo as I spot my favorite people OOO There's ABEY DARKSTAR!! One chip for me. I swear next year we are all playing cosplayer scavenger hunt for prizes if it kills me. We had the idea this year but hell, I couldn't even find the extra energy to crank out a decent SDCC Exclusives list! How was I going to run a full blown contest? It would go something like this...person in underoos/super hero underpants - 10 points...20 harley quins - 50 points...Doctor Horrible - 15 points...and so on. We'll do this one day. For now, let's check out the coolest costumes from Day 2...

SDCC 2014: Cosplay Day 1
I don't think I need to tell you how cosplay has blown up in a HUGE way since last San Diego Comic-Con! The heightened popularity of this passionate pastime has been a mixed blessing for folks already in the community for years. For a website like Idle Hands, we like to take everyone at face value...and that means TONS of cosplayer pictures. We know you love them..and we love to photograph them, so this year, almost more so than any show before, we've been on the hunt for cosplayers around every corner..big or small, mega advanced or duct tape and cardboard newb. Here's a look at my favorites photographed by Nicole Marrokal, Hailey Mordah and Kristelle Villa...

SDCC 2014: Max Steel Goes Hollywood
Did you know they were making a Max Steel movie? .....oh..you did. WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME?! We hit the show floor running on preview night at San Diego Comic-Con 2014 and when sprinting past the Mattel booth, we were surprised to see a whole section promoting the new Max Steel film coming in 2015! We may have missed the initial announcement on this, but we wouldn't have missed two glowing, Tron-esque figures in the middle of Comic-con.
Max Steel is an in-depth “origin” story packed with captivating characters and fast-paced action. The plot chronicles the adventures of Max McGrath and his mother have just moved back to Copper Canyon, the town in which Max’s scientist father died in a mysterious accident shortly after Max was born. As Max adjusts to his new school, things get complicated when his body starts to generate strange energy flare-ups that he can’t control.

SDCC 2014: Preview Night Cosplay
In years past, preview night at San Diego Comic-Con was a race among the press to get as many things shot as possible on a virtually empty show floor while the industry folks and professionals around us laughed and pointed...and were able to hold actual conversations. You could hop in line and buy toys..shoot every damn Marvel figure, front and back, unmolested...and there was plenty of room for all. These days...it is WAR. I tip my hat to the brave ladies covering the con for Idle Hands this year (an all female team!) and give a slight bow to the few but bold cosplayers who were on the floor to fight the good fight. Here's the first round of what should be some epic cosplay galleries!

SDCC 2014: 75 Years of Batman: A Massive Display of Costumes and Props at DC Comics
And so the doors to San Diego Comic-Con 2014 opened and the mob took to the floor and many a frightened, first time booth attendant no doubt pee'd himself. Hell, we hear some poor kid broke his jaw at Hasbro trying to get exclusives! Be careful out there people...they are only toys and if we don't look out for each other, who will? Over at the DC Comics booth, the celebration for 75 Years of Batman was in full swing with a MASSIVE display of Batman movie costumes and props from every installment possible. All that's missing from our picture gallery is the image of a super fan and his/her child standing before the cases with twin gaped mouths. Dive right in and feel free to shed a tear or two...we won't judge.
