I love this recipe. It is easy to make and works great, I mix it all by hand and have only made two changes to fit my cercumatance. I have an older gas stove so I bake it on 350, and about half way through the cooking I coat the top in the butter. tapping on the bottom doesn't work till it has cooled some but I cook it a until the top is a golden brown basically ignoring time and it works, My kids adore this bread, and even though it makes two bread loaves it rarely lasts over two days.

I love how you are posting your grandmother's recipes. I have quite a few from my grandmother and they certainly did write them out differently "back then." Please keep adding them! (P.S. my best friend calls me "Weenie" and its nice to see another person had that nickname!) I have an old, quite worn Betty Crocker cookbook, too!
