This was really delicious! I didn't serve it as a salad, although it would be great for that. I have some leftovers. I may try it on salad greens tomorrow. More details in IMI 5/29/16

  • semi00 8 years ago about Crockpot Corned Beef Cabbage
the flavor was GREAT! but next time and there will be a next time I will change things around in the crock. 1) will buy a lower sodium no nitrite smaller corned beef brisket. 2) meat on the bottom to be braised in the beer/water mix. I think that is it. the meat was only steamed? and was still very tough after 7 hours of cooking. (might just have been this piece of meat) So I will not review it yet because I think all in all it's a Great recipe and don't feel right giving it a bad or lesser review because it may have been something else. Family has become less and less sodium tolerant (my fault) so corned beef has been becoming an issue for a while. but we still really love the taste. but found that I can now get a hold of a lower sodium brisket, so will give that a try later.

  • Lilliu 9 years ago about Wacky Ingredients but oh so good Pork Chops with Savory and Tangy Gravy
This was really good and easy to make. Everyone ate it so fast! Loved the wacky ingredients and flexibility. Some substitutions I made were cherry preserves that were languishing in the fridge, Dijon mustard, summer savory and tarragon, a bit of cooking sherry (no wine on hand), regular soy sauce, and even bread flour on bone-in chops. I also added some Indonesian sweet soy sauce (aka Kecap manis) and a few dashes of Tabasco. I didn't even measure the ingredients; just eyeballed it all. Thanks for a delicious pork chop recipe!

Hi Diva! I have your Wacky Pork Chop recipe cooking as I type...and let me tell you...that sauce is sooooo delicious! I used 7 big, bone-in pork chops, so I had to put the chops into a large baking diish after they were seared.. Then I poured the sauce ontop and will let them bake for 1 1/2 hours. I can't wait to eat these! I'll serve them over egg noodles, as you suggested! I'll post a pic and review to the recipe page later! =)

Nice to see you dear. We've been very quiet with our celebrations this year...Fred's illness has given us a whole new perspective on living. Since he has been home from rehab, we have been working on him gaining back his strength and daily living skills, it is an exhausting schedule of therapy and working to support the household. But, we are very blessed to still have him with us. Very blessed indeed. Hope all is well with you and yours. Sounds like you have been incredibly busy and that is always a good sign of a happy and full life. Bless you dear. Best wishes and a Properous Joyous New Year.
