SWEET BIRTHDAY CARDS | with Maryám

I love my doodle stamps! In case you didn't know, in every new collection Doodlebug releases, we usually get 1 or 2 new sets of clear photopolymer stamps, plus coordinating dies to help us cut all the little images. For today's project, I'm going to be mainly using the stamp sets from the Hey Cupcake and Party Time collections to create two adorable cards.

To create my cards, I started by stamping some images from the Doodle Stamps - Birthday Boy, Doodle Stamps - Birthday Girl, and Doodle Stamps - Party Animal - Girl onto smooth white cardstock. Next, I grabbed my box of Polychromos Colored Pencils and started to color my images trying to follow the same color palette from the collections I mentioned earlier.

Once I finished coloring my images, I grabbed the coordinating dies for each one of the stamps sets I used before, positioned all the dies in place, taped them with a little bit of washi tape to secure them in place, and run them through my die-cutting machine.

Now that I had all elements I needed, I played with some different compositions until I decided on one. For the first, I decided to do go with a girl-themed card and used some pattern paper from the Hey Cupcake collection to make it more fun and colorful. For the sentiment, I used "It's Your Birthday" from the Doodle Stamps - Happy Birthday which I white heat embossed on black cardstock.

For my second card, I used the two remaining images I colored- a cook boy and a cake- and created a fun composition in which it looks like the little boy just made a delicious cake. For the sentiment, I used "happy birthday" that I white heat embossed on black cardstock, and finished up my project by adding sequins, sprinkles, and of course, the brand-new mini jewels that are an absolute favorite of mine!

That is it for today. I hope you guys enjoyed this post and liked the ideas I shared. If you have any questions just leave a comment below or send me an email. I'll be happy to help you.

Have an awesome day!

DOODLE STAMPS & CUTS - TAGS | with Shellye

What happens when you take assorted Doodlebug Stamps & Dies and combine them with plain kraft tags and some coloring? A delightful collection of tags for any occasion!
To begin, I sorted through the various sets of stamps and chose those that wouldn't be too busy as a background.  Next, I stamped the images with Memento Tuxedo Ink onto pre-cut kraft tags. I find that colored pencils (I used Prismacolor w/ a colorless blender) work beautifully on kraft.  For extra whimsy, I also used a white gel pen on a few of the tags!
After completing the tag backgrounds I moved onto stamping images to layer onto the tags. As you can see, some colored and stamped nicely and some didn't LOL! My process included selecting some of my favorite images, so not all of them were used for this project.
For the larger background images, I decided to stamp only two or three times. And some images, such as the "love you" heart, was simply stamped without anything else added to it!

If you'll notice the nest that the two birds are sitting on...that's the crescent moon stamp!  It's so much fun to see how all  of the various images can be layered together.
For a few of tags I used some of the larger, basic-shaped dies to create little backdrops for the colored images.  Below, an upside-down heart was used!
After adding the die-cut images with foam adhesive, I went back and stamped sentiments that were attached to the tags.  Again, it was fun to sort through the stamp collections and find just the right greeting for each one!

Lastly, enamel shapes and sprinkles, along with a chunky twine hanger were given to each!
The tags can be added to gift bags, lunch boxes, card fronts or even used as ornaments.
I hope that you'll give them a try!

CHRISTMAS MAGIC STAMPING ON CARDS | with Karen

One of my favourite parts of Christmas are all the delicious treats that are a part of the season. Not just because I get to eat them, but also because I get to spend time with my two little gals baking and decorating to our heart's content. Christmas treats go hand-in-hand with family time, so I just love that they also play a starring role in Doodlebug's new Christmas Magic collection. Now I have another way to share the seasons's treats with those that are special in my life! Santa's Sweets is a darling new stamp set that Doodlebug released with this collection. Featuring everything from a darling gingerbread boy to gum drops and baked goods galore, this little stamp set is sweet in all sorts of ways! It became the inspiration behind this little scene that I created, featuring one of the great sentiment stamps that also comes with this set. With a bit of masking, the stamps perfectly complimented each other in theme and dimension. And for a little texture, I also used the darling tree stamp from the Christmas Magic stamp set, a set that was also created to coordinate with this collection. And can we just take a moment to admire these darling little mini heart Shape Sprinkles?!
So, whether baking is part of your Christmas tradition or not, these stamps and this collection will definitely add a little (or a lot) of sweetness into your season. In the meantime, I hope this card sparks a bit of inspiration and adds a bit of sweetness to your day!
Thanks for stopping by!

CANDY CARNIVAL 'HELLO' CARD | with Karen

Halloween is just around the corner and if you haven't been inspired this month by all the darling Doodlebug creations with the new Candy Carnival collection, the only reason might be that you are not a fan of Halloween. And I get it - this holiday wasn't always one of my favourites! But fear not - today I wanted to showcase a little card that uses all the fun from the Candy Carnival collection without featuring the October 31st part!
For this particular card, I decided to use some of the fun candy-themed stamps from the Trick or Treat collection. Coloured up with alcohol markers and then placed on top a simple "hello" sentiment, it's a card that can be sent as a simple hello for the fall season or even a "thanks for being sweet" card!
And while the little Candy Corns might have you thinking "Halloween"...
...all the other sweet treats are as innocent as can be! I mean, look at that face! Add some fun star shaped Sprinkle and you are all set!
This collection, while perfect for Halloween, is also perfect for all sorts of occasions! Fall fair layouts or even fall birthday cards would be a perfect fit! So even if Halloween crafting isn't part of your repertoire, this collection really does have something for everyone. I know you will love it as much as I do!

CANDY CARNIVAL STAMPING FUN | with Karen

I was not always a fan of Halloween. I mean, little chocolate treats aside, the creepy side of Halloween always left me feeling...well...creepy! That is until I was introduced to Doodlebug's version of Halloween a few years ago! And now, dare I say, it is one of my favourite times of the year to craft! Bring on the cute ghouls and darling pumpkins! I am ready for some Halloween fun!
And Doodlebug's new collection, called Candy Carnival certainly delivers. It doesn't get any cuter than the little pumpkins, sweet treats and adorable creatures like little Sir Fatty Batty! First up on the crafty table was a little card I created using the Happy Halloween Doodlestamp set.
I first stamped out the little pumpkin and the vampire and then masked them out to place the adorable castle into the scene. Sir Fatty Batty, the stars and the sentiment all then made their way onto the page and I was ready to colour it up.
And can we talk about the embellishments in this collection. Always a fan of a Doodlebug Sprinkle, I may have squealed a bit when I first laid eyes on these candy themed ones!
You don't have to be a fan of Halloween to be jumping at the chance to craft with this collection! In fact, this collection will have you wishing that Halloween came around more often. As for me, I am off to embrace my "cute spook" self and have more fun with this collection. I can't wait to share more projects with you.

I❤️TRAVEL CARD | with Karen

I don't think it is any surprise that I have been a happy crafter since Doodlebug released stamps earlier this year! Almost every Doodlebug project I create has at least one stamped image as a part of the design. And every time a new set is released I get more and more excited! So why do I love the Doodlebug stamps - besides the obvious Doodlebug cuteness and amazing quality of these stamps? I have always found stamps to be very versatile! Need a little embellishment to fill a space? Grab one of the adorable heart stamps that happen to come in a variety of sizes from a set like the i ❤️travel doodle stamps.
Need a larger image to fill up a space on a card? Grab a couple of different stamps like these cute suitcases and do a bit of masking or layering to get a substantial image that becomes the focal point of your project! Love how it worked out? Stamp and repeat! Feeling a bit "meh" about the design? Get out the stamp pad and try something different! Experiment and play to your heart's content!
And while I know this post is all about why I love the stamps, can we just take a minute to stop and admire the amazingness of Doodlebug sprinkles as well?! Ahhhhhh....
So, if you are already a stamper, I know you will agree that this new addition to the Doodlebug line-up has lit the crafty fire in your creative space! And if not, why not give them a try? They really are oodles of Doodlebug fun!
Thanks for stopping by!

I ❤️TRAVEL STAMPED PILLOW BOX | with Karen

One of my favourite things to do with a paper collection is to try to figure out all the different ways that I can use them. The new "I ❤️Travel" collection from Doodlebug is no exception. And while there is no doubt that I will be using this collection to scrap all the images I have from the road trip we took at the beginning of July, I decided to have my first project showcase the versatility of this theme as well! So out came the new Doodle Stamps and my trusty stamp pad. There are two darling sets for this collection - I ❤️ Travel and Let's Getaway, both with coordinating die cuts. This fantastic cruise ship stamp can be found in the Let's Getaway set and it was the perfect image for a little pillow box! Filled with delicious little mints that will remain nameless (sort of), it's cute way to say thank-you in a way that is just a little bit unexpected!
So even if you don't have the travel bug, think of all the "farewell", "thank-you" or "new journey" projects you could create with this great new collection. It really is as cute as they come (or go!!).
Thanks for stopping by!

SUMMER SUNSHINE WRAPPED IN A PILLOW BOX | with Karen

Every now and again, I happen to create a project that just warms my heart. Sometimes, inspiration is everything - like projects created for the baby shower of a couple that adopted a little cutie. Sometimes, the product is everything - like with adorable stamps and colourful patterns from Doodlebug. And sometimes, it happens to be the combination of both that leaves projects with a special place in my heart - like these little pillow box favours, the perfect combination of inspiration and amazing product! To create these little pillow boxes, I used some of my favourite textured cardstock in a variety of yellow colours - sunshine, bumblebee and lemon all make an appearance. Each was then topped with a mini doilie and a stip of Petite Prints in a stone gray featuring a variety of patterns. Some Lily White Jewels surround the cutest part of the whole box - a great combination of the sun shaped stamp from the Far Out Doodle Stamps and one of the cloud stamps from Rainbows and unicorns.
While these were designed to brighten the day of party guests, they sure brightened my day as I was creating them - all 50!! Was it worth it - well...just look at that face! Need I say more?

Thanks for dropping by, Hugs,
