CANDY CARNIVAL LAYOUT | with Caroli

I was sorting photos for Halloween projects some days ago and found this darling pic of my little girl some years ago. I can't believe I didn't scrapped it before, so I printed and got down to the business. I wanted to use a circle structure on this layout, so I just cut a big circle in the middle of the page and filled it with the photo. It was such a simple design but i love how this came out.

I used a bunch of die-cuts from the Odds&Ends package and few Doodle Pops to create some embellishment clusters, I didn't used patterned paper in this layout. 

The main focus is on the big photo, but I also used few more circle shaped photos on the cluster just to make the composition more interesting and because I love using as many photos as possible on my layouts. 

I created my title using my Silhouette Cameo machine and free font "Learning Curve" I found on the internet. I cut it in a circular way, just to keep the whole circle concept.

I love the simple and clean concept of this layout, and that I only used embellishments, it's full of stuff but it looks clean at the same time :)

CANDY CARNIVAL HOT AIR BALLOON TABLE CENTRE | with Jennifer

Hello everyone. I'm so in love with Doodlebug's latest Halloween collection, Candy Carnival.

For my project, I knew I wanted to try making a hot air balloon. After finding a cutting file with the shape I liked, I made the balloon portion out of chipboard then covered it with patterned paper. The basket portion, however, was way too small for what I needed, so I created a large oval one to fit all the cute die-cut trick or treaters.

I decided to add some wheels and propellers to the piece to make it look like a whimsical carnival ride. 

The wood base was covered with patterned paper (one of my favorites from the collection). I also added some candy sprinkles and doodle-pop stickers to the base for some added texture.

Lots of black and white chunky twine was used throughout the piece, adding to the Halloween theme.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN - CANDY CARNIVAL LAYOUT | with Tegan

Real life spiders scare me, but I can't get enough of the cute spiders from the fun new Candy Carnival collection! And I usually avoid real life spider webs, but I am having a blast playing with the Doodlebug Design Booville Spider Circle Cut File! It is safe to say, the only spider web I'd like to get tangled up in is the patterned paper one on my layout! Ha!

To make the spider web cut out, I used the Booville Spider Circle Cut File and gray cardstock to make the spider web about 8 inches tall. I then backed each section with some of my favorite Candy Carnival patterned papers. I used the scalloped circle Hocus Pocus sticker for part of my title and embellished it with adorable candy shaped Candy Carnival enamel pieces.

I added a Jolly Jack-O-Lantern enamel shape to the hot air balloon odds & Ends piece for fun! And aren't the jack-o-lantern die cut shapes just darling?!

One of my favorite die cut pieces from the Candy Carnival Odds & Ends pack is the banner! I added a couple Sweet Treats enamel shapes to it to add a little dimension. I also love the colorful pinwheel Odds & Ends pieces too because they make me think of what Halloween fireworks might look like.

CANDY CARNIVAL DRINK COLLARS | with Shellye

Need a quick, last minute non-candy TREAT idea for Halloween? 

These "Drink Collars" will do the TRICK!

What's even better is that you can make them as simple or as elaborate as you'd like!

I started with a beautiful array of Sugar-Coated Cardstock and cut them into 3"X6" strips.

I scored at 4" and used a 1.5" circle punch to create a hole inside of the 2" flap:

Next I selected a few of the patterned papers and 2X2 cut apart cards from the 

"Candy Carnival" Collection.  Before attaching with foam and adhesive tapes, I 

corner rounded just the bottom two edges of the mat paper and 2X2 cards:

For the straw hanger I die cut a 2" circle and then punched two holes at

along the middle top and bottom with a regular hole punch. The circle was attached

to the back of the sugar coated cardstock with adhesive tape and secured

even further with two assorted brads:

I gently pushed through a paper straw and embellished with a tiny stamped tag.

For smaller bottled drinks, just use a different sized hole punch.  An after-thought: 

use Doodlebug stamps to create little "to-be-colored" tags too!

CANDY CARNIVAL PUMPKIN PENCIL TOPPERS | with Kathy

Halloween is almost here!  I still haven't purchased candy.... but I have a cute project that would be a perfect little gift for the kids, friends or even for the classroom!  Take a peek...

How cute are these little pumpkin pencil toppers??  I used the 3 pumpkin SVGs from the Candy Carnival SVG files available in the Lori Whitlock SVG Shop.  I pieced them together using a combination of the Candy Carnival Collection and some Petite Prints. 

I added a few of the spider stickers from the Candy Carnival Mini Icons Stickers to embellish.

The pumpkins are attached to the pencil by this little Pencil topper base that I created.   You could attach almost anything to the pencils using this, such as stickers from the Icons Sheet or Odds & Ends Pieces.  These would make great classroom gifts if you're looking for a candy-free alternative.  All you need are some cute pencils which you can get online or at your local craft or office supply store.  You can download the pencil topper base for free on my blog here.  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!

CANDY CARNIVAL POCKET PAGES | with Nathalie

I have been loving documenting with the Candy Carnival collection so much that I made another pocket page with it! This is my third time and you can see my first pages here and second ones here. I love how different they each are, showing you the wide variety included in this collection.

For today's project, I recorded some October family fun into a 9x12 page:

I created all my cards using patterned papers either cut from 12x12 sheets or from the 6x6 paper pad. I purposefully made this page with a cleaner and simpler look and that is why I restricted myself to use two colors + black.

As far as embellishments go, I first selected a few die-cuts from the Chit Chat pack and then added stickers (from the 12x12 This & That sheet, the Icons stickers and Doodle-pops).

I also included a couple elements from the Boos and Brews labels and tags pack, like below to add the date or on my title card.

The journaling is typed with a manual typewriter on white cardstock and cut into strips. As a final touch, I added a bit of texture with a few machine stitches.

So whatever your scrapbooking style is, the Candy Carnival collection is perfect for documenting your October! We're just a few days away, so I wish you a lot of ghoulish fun on Halloween!

CANDY CARNIVAL - CANDY BAR SLIDER | with Tya

Well - it's my very favorite time of year and honestly one of my favorite times to craft too! I  LOVE  making fun treat holders and the Candy Carnival collection is PERFECT for doing just that! These candy bar sliders are so quick and easy to put together and add a fun interactive element as well!

So I made these little cuties using this super easy tutorial - the link is here if you would like to make some of these for yourselves: Candy Bar Holder

Here are some close-ups of the wrappers.  I used some Icon Stickers, Odds and Ends, some Sprinkles and two of the Sprinkle Shapes - the Tiny Treats and the So Corny ones. I used a few pattern papers from the 6x6 paper pad mounted on some white cardstock. The actual holders are made from a 6x6 piece of Ring Toss paper. You can get 4 of these holders from one sheet of paper so lots of bang for your buck with this type of holder.

Here is a close up of how the pull part works. I cut a 22-inch piece of ribbon and lace it through a hole I punched through the top of the holder and then you simply place your candy bar in between the two ends of the ribbon, push it into the paper holder and then tie the ribbon in the top.

CANDY CARNIVAL - NON THEMED HALLOWEEN LAYOUT | with Maryám

Did you know that you can document moments of any kind with the Candy Carnival Collection? I know that Candy Carnival is a Halloween themed collection, but you can totally create a layout to document your everyday moments, and so that is what I did for today's project. 

I started by gathering some of the items of the collection that I found would work with any photo. Next, I choose two photos of my cousin and I that we took while we were playing with some of the famous Instagram Filters. Who would have thought that those photos would work perfectly with this collection?! 

The next part was to create a design for my layout and I have to say that I wasn’t really sure what to do until I saw the Star Attraction paper that inspired the entire design. With this in mind, I went ahead and cut a lot of stars from the 6x6 paper pack, I also created another using the gorgeous doodlebug sprinkles and shape sprinkles from this collection, heat embossed some little starts from one of the stamp sets, and hand-stitched a few more. 

Along with the stars, I also needed to choose a title for my page. In order to do this, I used two types of alphabet stickers- Abigail and Teensy Type, both in black, and adhered them onto vellum paper and then cut around the border, and finally, put it on a stitched star in the center of my photos. 

Last but not least, I added a paper, Spelling Bee, from school days collection on the back of my layout just to add some more color and balance the entire design.
