MONSTER MADNESS CANDY BAR WRAPS | with Wanda

Hey Doodlebug Friends! One week until Halloween! It's Wanda here with another project I made with the Monster Madness Collection! Isn't this collection just the cutest and most perfect thing for Halloween?? I'm sharing some more treat ideas for Halloween! These were a big hit at my job. It's really nice to share a bit of candy and a bit of cheer - even if you're a grown up! I decorated some candy bar wrappers and made a little notecard to share with you today. I smile every time I reach for these cute supplies and those adorable monsters.

I used the 12x12 Monster Madness papers to make the base of the candy bar wrappers. Then I used mini doilies for a pop (more pop) of color, and then used the embellishments from the collection to create little Halloween scenes!

Here's my mini notecard! I decorated it with the embellishments from Monster Madness and one little puffy sticker pumpkin too!

Here's a close up of the wrapper. One Hershey's bar fits inside for a little taste of sweetness!

I like to use a white gel pen to add accents to all the die cut pieces. And I sprinkled on some of those pretty enamel stars too! So much fun to mix and match all of these elements. Sure to bring a grin!

That's it for today! I can't wait to make and share some projects with the new Farmer's Market Collection. It's on my desk ready to go! Take care and have a Happy Halloween!

LOTS OF LOVE CANDY BAR WRAPS | with Karen

I will admit that I am definitely a seasonal crafter - give me a holiday and I am crafting up a storm. I definitely have a harder time during those "in between" times . Recently, I have taken those times to focus on random acts of kindness and taking some time to spread some crafty happiness.

  All-4-1

So today, I thought I would share some little candy bar wrappers that I created. Whether you use them to say thank-you or to get ahead of the game with Mother's Day crafts (I can't help it - seasonal crafter all the way!), you will be able to create this pretty and easy craft in no time!

Washi-Tape

I started by using the "Lots of Love" collection to create a little sleeve for my candy bars. I made them tight enough that the treat would not slide out, but did decide to use a little washi tape on the bottom just to finish off the bottom a bit.

Bit-Pieces

I then layered some of the cute die cuts from the Bits & Pieces pack for a focal point on each of the sleeves. I used a few different foam adhesive thickness just to vary the height of each piece and give it some more dimension. Oh, and don't be afraid to bend the edges of the flower shapes a bit - it gives the flowers some interest and adds even more dimension to your project.

All-4-2

I added a few of the mini hearts to add a bit of shine and then topped everything off with a little bow.

So there you have it - a little craft idea to help you fill in the time between holidays or maybe to help you get ahead with some that are coming up.  Thanks for stopping by!

CUTE & CRAFTY CANDY WRAPS | with Karen

It is back to school time in the Scrappycanuck household! The summer has come to an end and we are starting to get back into the groove of things. Well....sort of...

But you know what always helps with these kinds of transitions? Doodlebug and chocolate, of course! And while the new Cute and Crafty collection is perfect for us crafters, it also happens to be PERFECT for school themed projects too! So I decided to make some little chocolate bar sliders that I could give to some of my teaching colleagues just as a way of saying, "Welcome back and here's a little something just in case!"

Chocolate bar sliders are really just a little sleeve that you create to cover a tasty treat of your choice! The ribbon is tied in a way that the bar can slide up without having to be untied. But really, if someone just needs to get right in there quickly, the bow offers a quick release method as well!

As I was deciding on the papers I wanted to use for the project, I realized that the 4"x3" cards on the Precious Posies paper was the perfect size for my sliders and offered all sorts of cute options for my sentiments. How easy is that?

I embellished them a bit with some Sprinkles and Mini Jewels and then created the sleeve from the Bright Ideas paper - my favourite pattern in this collection actually! I added some Mini Doilies and Min Paper clips for texture and interest too! Once they were loaded up, I was all set.

Well, I have a few more of these to finish up for my pals so I better get back to the crafty table! If you are facing any transitions right now in your life, I hope they are as smooth as chocolate for you too! Thanks for stopping by!

CANDY CARNIVAL NUGGET WRAPS | with Kathy

When my daughter was in grade school, I used to love making fun treats to send in to her class for Halloween.  I decided that this tradition didn't need to stop just because she is away at college.  This year I came up with these cute little Nugget Candy Holders using the Candy Carnival Cut files that are available in the Lori Whitlock SVG Shop.  Take a peek...

These little holders are really easy to make.  You start with a 4.5"x 1.5" strip of paper.  You then score it at 1.5", 2.5" and 4".

That allows you to fold it into a little triangle with a fold over flap.  A Nugget Candy fits perfectly in the bottom, and you can secure it in there with a glue dot.  All that was left was to decorate the front with one of the cute little cut files!

If you also would like to cover the candy bars themselves like I did in the first photo, just cut a 1" x 3" strip of coordinating paper and wrap it around the candy and secure with adhesive.  Have you made any projects using the new Candy Carnival Cut Files ?  Be sure to tag Doodlebug Design on Facebook and Instagram, we would love to see your creations!  That's it for me today, thanks for stopping by to peek!
