Color By Shape! Coloring page

 

I'm still working on getting back in the habit of drawing and this was an idea I had recently for coloring by shape. There are 6 different shapes in the circle, and my example was colored in using rainbow colors for each shape. 

It's fussy and hopefully calmly meditative for people who like coloring in simple designs with a lot of small areas.

Rotational symmetry- Circles

 

I haven't done a lot of rotational symmetry recently in drawing. It was time. 

I decided to work just with circles because drawing and placing circles for something like this is really relaxing for me. I hope you all find the same peace coloring it!!

Feather Coloring Page- intricate!

I haven't done anything this intricate in a while. I hope you all enjoy it!! I'll be posting a less complex variation in the next few days.

This is inspired by those amazing beadwork wings that Billy Porter wore to the Met Gala event.

Garden themed coloring page

Yay!! It's spring. Okay, up here it's soggy, wet with snow melting and all that, but still, I'm getting containers planted and starting stuff that will go out at the end of May.

Shield Knot to Color

So lately I've been caught up drawing knots that are inspired by some of my favorite geeky things. Since most of them are very recognizable trademarked logos, I'm using them for personal use only. This one though, inspired by Captain America's shield, is just inspired. So I'm uploading it for you all to color and looking forward to seeing how you'll color it!

Batty Mandala to color

I started this mandala a week ago, planning on it being something quick to post. And I kept coming back to it thinking it needed one more dot, one more star. That maybe plain outlines didn't work and it needed solid black, then thinking that was too much and going back to outlines and not liking that.

So now I'm posting it. Because at this rate it's never going to be done. There is always going to be one more spot I want to add a star or dot too. I'm never going to be sure about outline weight or solid black. So I hope very much you enjoy this simple but more complicated than it needed to be batty mandala for Halloween.

In other news! 

I got the printed version of my new coloring book!!

My daughter holding copies of my new coloring book.

And my kids went to a local small convention at the beginning of the month and I have to show off their costumes. The Amazing Turnip Girl made both of them.

Yesterday was the first day of summer and the solstice. I'm sorry to say I didn't go out and get a photo of the midnight sun like I usually do. But I did draw this happy mandala to color for summer.

AND I picked the first ripe strawberry off my new Tristan strawberry plant that my husband gave me. We shared it!

Heart Sights Mandala

So it's been super sunny here and I'm trying to get back on track for regular updates. But the sun calls me out to work on my garden or to read in the sun.

And I've been re-reading a lot of Jacqueline Carey- I just finished re-reading the Santa Oliva books and the Agent of Hel books. This mandala was inspired by a quote from her most well-known series- Kushiel's Legacy.

Flowers for summer mandala to color

I finally finished my next coloring book, and wow.. I hope you like it. It's available for pre-order now on Amazon. Whimsical Mandalas - it was a lot of fun to draw!

So after finishing, I took a couple days just to unwind then spent today drawing this mandala for all of you to color and to say "I'm back! Didja miss me?"

Celestial Mandala 2016

Back when I first started, very shyly, to post coloring pages instead of just printable boxes, one of my very first mandalas was a celestial one that has become one of my most popular designs. Since then, I've considered re-visiting the basic idea a few times, and finally did it this week.
